History EbixExchange - A Division of Ebix, Inc. 11/07 to 11/09
Manager, Marketing & Communications - Supported corporate and
divisional operational communications and marketing/sales
initiatives for global public insurance systems company, Ebix,
Inc. (NASDAQ: EBIX).
. Conceived name and logo design for EbixExchange October 2007.
. Produced rush messaging / collateral critical to corporate
strategic interests (relationship of Park City, UT / Herndon,
VA offices November 2006; EbixExchange launch November 2007).
. Work Ethic, Professionalism, Composure throughout a
dynamically-changing post-acquisition / post-merger corporate
environment:
o Recognized by division head / senior executive for efforts
critical to client retention; ensured consistent quality of
corporate communications during an extensive and
challenging merger transition period.
o Reported directly to 5 different senior executives over the
course of 2 years. Maintained quality production /
initiatives regardless of continuous change. With annual
revenues increased to a record $25mm, in early 2009 it was
announced internally that EbixExchange had become the
leading division within Ebix.
. Helped produce proposals that led to $1.5 million systems
implementations at insurance and broker/dealer distributor
groups of Fidelity and US Bank February-September 2009.
. Trained and supervised MARCOM associates. Provided extensive
editing and production of technical documentation, numerous
large-scale sales proposals, daily client communications,
press releases, brochures, video presentations, and eblast
marketing campaigns in support of sales initiatives.
Finetre Corporation 09/04 to 11/07
Manager, Marketing & Communications - Improved branding and
communications to successfully promote the sale of this
private corporation and leading developer of annuity/life
insurance online exchange platforms. Finetre's AnnuityNet and
LifeSpeed platforms are in production environments today at a
wide range of major US financial services firms.
. Acquisition of Finetre by Ebix for $16 million in October
2006 validated Jim's efforts 2004 - 2006 in repackaging
Finetre and improving its communications.
. Introduced new efficiencies through extensive project
management. Oversaw RFP and subsequent implementation and
training of salesforce.com CRM, Vertical Response,
iCentera.com, and GoToMeeting online platforms. Reduced the
speed at which client communications and documentation were
distributed from 3-4 hours to a matter of minutes.
Streamlined data management of client contact information.
. Helped Finetre overcome marketplace skepticism:
o Quelled a provocative / inflammatory challenge published in
a public client email by quickly responding to the
distribution with polish and poise - while relying solely
on personal judgment and discretion - just months after
arriving at Finetre.
o Revamped Finetre's user group meeting and served as group
event emcee and client point of contact.
. Created a whimsical, interactive game - Annuity Craps -
that shifted marketplace perception of Finetre from high-
priced monopoly to compliance solutions provider.
Extensive campaign collateral included promotional mailers
that contained invitations to play Annuity Craps, Finetre-
branded dice, alternative dice games, and value-statement
messaging. The campaign, used by Finetre at industry trade
o shows and client meetings from 2005 through 2006, helped
disarm and charm clients and broke the ice for renewed
conversations and improved client relations.
. Streamlined Finetre's internal workflow by which daily client
operations memorandums were produced. Created corporate
style guide; achieved branding consistency in everything from
proposals to presentations. Personally oversaw design /
development of new company Web site, 12-page glossy brochure,
new tradeshow booth, and all supporting collateral.
Coordinated numerous large technical proposals, created a key
graphical icon used throughout the company's collateral, and
oversaw all tradeshow logistics for 20+ conferences annually.
Oversaw annual media operations budget of over $400K.

pension clientele.
. Upgraded company's staid image and improved client relations
through dynamic custom promotions and improved quality of
annual user group meeting.

through a series of dynamic, highly-customized campaigns.

meeting by over 200% through creation of new meeting
format: Established Lynchval as the first private
commercial pension software vendor to offer CPE-credit
