Global FM Technical Resource Manager
The Global FM Technical Resource Manager is responsible for promoting FM and Metrology best
practices and standards across Covance. This includes providing input to the FM leadership by
influencing and monitoring cross-site systems and services to ensure that they continue to meet internal
customer, client and regulatory requirements. The Global FM Technical Resource Manager will assist in
the development of processes, policies and standard operating procedures to ensure the facility is in
compliance with the established standards. I was able to train and coach FM team members in the uses
and reporting of "Just Do It "process improvements projects that resulted in significant savings during
2010. I managed the planning, budget, design and startup of two metrology labs located in Shanghai,
China and Battle Creek, Michigan. Reviewed and qualified 105 external AIS and Metrology services
suppliers and made approved vendor listing available electronically to all of Global FM.

Sr. North America Metrology Manager
Provide leadership in the conduct of metrology services to Covance Labs North America (CLNA) and
Clinical Pharmacology North America locations which meet internal and external customer requirements,
regulatory requirements and industry leading practices. Interface with internal business unit leaders.
Develops business strategies and leads collaboration of scientific instrument services between Metrology
and scientific business units. I managed the planning, budget, design and startup of two metrology labs
located in Greenfield, IN and Chandler, AZ. Rewrote and or updated the Metrology cross site position
descriptions and SOPs. Merged AIS and Metrology operations at Madison, WI and created job ladder for
future tech progression. Due to staffing issues, I provided Chandler, AZ with hands on calibrations and
coordinated quarterly bubble assignments.
Honeywell Technology Solutions Columbia, MD 09/02 – 12/07
Metrology Services Assimilation Manager
Market Honeywell Metrology services to external customers and internal Honeywell labs. Present new
assimilation and contract renewal proposals to business development leaders at weekly tollgates.
Coordinate or perform assimilation preliminary pricing, review of contracted terms and conditions. After
contract awards activities included managing capital / employee transfers and the initial startup of over
thirteen metrology laboratories - Conducted internal AS 9100:2004 internal audits as required.

Associate Director of Metrology
As Associate Director of Metrology at Genzyme Corporation, I provide leadership and technical direction
to a team of managers, three line supervisors and twenty-six other metrology professionals. During a four-
year period my teams were engaged in process and productivity improvement projects that utilized
statistical methods to establish and report key Metrology metrics. My group experienced annual growth
rates in excess of twenty percent, Cost Saving (Avoidance) of $150,000 and increased customer
satisfaction scores.
Two cross-functional Metrology teams that I led were able to completely rewrite GN-006-01 the Metrology
Program Standard Operating Procedure and provide Genzyme with its first fully validated Code of Federal
Regulations (21 CFR Part 11): compliant computer tracking system.
Fiscal responsibilities included developing annual budgets, evaluating and recommending capital
expenditures. Analyzed quarterly results and addressed any deviations to plan. I routinely monitored the
cost and performance of over fifty external suppliers.
Regulatory responsibilities included ensuring that there were no significant regulatory observations during
routine Federal Drug Administration (FDA) Medicines Control Agency (MCA), UK, and ISO surveillance
visits.
I was able to co-lead my first Black Belt project at Genzyme in the I.T department that resulted in the
development and application of Six Sigma tools and a remote intranet access cost saving of $510,000.

Manager of Metrology
Provided leadership and direction to Genzyme’s Metrology hubs at Framingham, Allston and Cambridge,
MA. Developed budgets and cost control strategies, staffing plans in support rapid growth at all three
locations. Developed GEN level Metrology standard operation procedures, reviewed monthly work
schedules utilizing various internal work flow databases. Regulatory responsibilities included ensuring that
there were no significant regulatory observations during FDA, MCA, and ISO surveillance visits.
Kopin Corporation, Westboro, MA 10/95- 03/98
Equipment Quality Engineer
Designed and implement equipment solutions for process problems in diffusion, SOI and etch.
Proposed and implemented Kopin’s first particle control program that resulted in dramatic particle
reductions and product quality improvements. Conducted calibrations and repairs on a wide variety of gas
monitoring systems and production equipment. Performed equipment modifications, and quality checks in
support of all flat panel manufacturing. Performed all final quality checks on flat panel demo kits used for
customer evaluations.
Digital Equipment Corporation, Maynard, MA 1976 - 1995
Quality Manager – Field Service
Managed 2 supervisors and 18 inspectors with responsibility for receiving, in process and outbound
shipments at three major field service warehousing sites.
Converted from 100% inspections to sampling based on MIL-SPEC-105D; resulting in a 50 percent
reduction in cycle times for receiving, in-process and priority one orders.
Quality Systems Consultant
Trained over sixty Lead quality systems internal assessors in support of a company- wide introduction of
the ISO 9000 quality standard. Developed and delivered quality technique & tools training to 450+
associates at one site. Lead auditor on over twenty plant wide quality system assessments.
Just In Time Consultant
Developed and presented JITQC programs and Maxcim software training to production associates and
their managers company wide.
Facilitated 53 Small Group Improvement teams; resulting in savings of 1.2 million dollars.
Conducted numerous site audits and other assessments.
