Human Resources Manager

Provide HR management and operations guidance to an architectural and

engineering firm with three company structures, over 350 employees and all

levels of management. Responsible for management of all aspects of HR

department activities.

Advise and assist management staff with employee relations, employment law,

company policies, mediation and counseling matters, staff planning,

immigration, new hires, disciplinary actions, terminations and training.

Facilitate discussions and resolution of employee concerns, work and policy-

related issues.

Recruit for all levels of the organization including interviewing,

staffing, and training of employees. Recruit potential candidates from

external facilities and educational institutions.

Administer all benefit plans including fully insured and self-funded

medical plans, HSAs, dental, vision, COBRA, 401(k), 409(a) deferred

Led process improvement efforts by identifying and enhancing areas of

weakness, driving compliance and increasing efficiency resulting in time

and cost savings.

Key Accomplishments:

- Reduced broker and insurance fees by over $100,000 by reviewing

contracts and restructuring broker commissions.

- Initiated and implemented a payroll conversion from ADP to ExponentHR.

This offered a more robust and complete HRIS and saved us over $20,000

per year. In addition, it offered employees user-friendly access to

their real-time information.

- Streamlined the open enrollment process by implementing an on-line

system.

- Launched a web-based performance management system with defined

competencies for all staff positions.

- Authored an employee handbook for SHW Group and our sister company,

Cambridge Strategics, detailing company policies and procedures;

distributed to all staff.

- Initiated and implemented a change in health insurance carriers

- Initiated and implemented a conversion of the 401k plan. The new plan

provided the employees a better choice of investments, education
