process engineering, and quality activities for this privately held

manufacturer of magnet and nonferrous wire products used in motors,

transformers, and coils for power generation, consumer, and industrial

goods. Managed the quality control lab and process engineering group (15

people) and maintained the departmental budgets. Managed customer

relationships in claims and provided technical sales support in RFQ and new

manufacturing staff and end-use customers, evolving mindset regarding

< Minimized changeover times. Led Kaizen event(s) to reduce machine

downtime, scrap, and operating inefficiencies. Result(s) included an

increase in manufacturing capacity and flexibility and reduction in

changeover times by 33% along with increased production yields.

< Improved range of production capabilities. Reengineered processes to

accommodate the production of larger wire sizes increasing equipment

flexibility and production capacity to fulfill customer requirements and

requests.

< Improved Processes. Managed and led project to design and cost-

effectively build a new external lubricant application process proven to

produce higher quality wire, resulting in a large reduction in customer

complaints. Units were approved for corporate-wide use.

< Developed Processes to increase efficiency. Worked with Corporate Quality

to develop and implement a quick method to measure product quality during

equipment changeovers and start-ups, reducing scrap and downtime and

improving efficiency. New process/equipment was then implemented to

facilities in Mexico and China.
