Carried out research work in Experimental Fluid Mechanics starting from designing and

building wind tunnel to fabrication of sensors and instrumentation for hot-wire, LDV and

other measurement techniques. Have done experiments in various types of turbulent flows

with speeds ranging from subsonic to supersonic, and densities from gaseous to liquid

flows. Contributed to improving the knowledge of turbulence transport in curved flows and

to a better understanding of the evolution, description and sustenance of separation in

turbulent flows.

Currently working on Ground source Heat Pump modeling and geothermal loop design

software development aspects.

Was awarded a NRC Research Associateship in 1984 & and a NRC Senior Research

Associateship in 1990. Have taught some experimental fluid dynamics and basic aerodynamics

courses.

Industrial Experience includes project execution, management & technical

responsibility relating to Axial, Centrifugal, Mixed Flow, Reciprocating, Screw & Scroll

Compressor Stages & Components, as well as Turbines and Natural Gas Engines - mean line,

through-flow and multidimensional (some of them time dependent) fluid dynamic calculations

involving parametric analysis and optimization for improving product design and performance

- developing and validating the performance prediction programs - loss model improvement

for better performance prediction – experimentation & testing for improving prediction

capability, application of CFD for stage performance analysis (including transient

analysis) and design, as well as CFD studies for understanding the impact of various

geometrical/operational parameters on performance – CFD Code selection & evaluation – have

used TASCFLOW, ANSYS CFX (including ANSYS – WB), ICEM CFD, CFdesign - also used FLUENT &

CFDACE several years back – exposed to the use of ProE & other CAD software for CFD

application. Have used FORTRAN & BASIC.
