Director: Human Resources, Algood Food Company, Louisville, KY, 2001 to
present
Algood Food Company, a multi-site operation, is recognized as a premier
producer of private label peanut butter, jellies and preserves.
Grew an HR department of one supporting two facilities totaling 90
employees with revenues of $60 million to a department of nine supporting
four facilities totaling 230 employees with revenues in excess of $120
million. Provided leadership and expertise during a 7-month work stoppage
culminating in the decertification of two bargaining units. Strong
experiences in all facets of administrative, operational & strategic Human
Resources.
. Managed a plant relocation in 2002.
. Reduced recordable/lost-time injuries in 2004 by 50% as a result of
improved employee training.
. Instituted an hourly merit pay system in 2008 to slow base wage

Jeffboat LLC, a subsidiary of American Commercial Barge Line (ACBL) is a
1,100-employee (TQM) site manufacturing a complete line of barges and
towboats for inland waterway transportation companies.
Challenged with taking Labor Relations in a new direction given decades of
contentious labor issues, strong communication and heavy investment in
building company/union relationships resulted in a successful CBA that
included the shipyard's first Random Drug Testing program, which
contributed to a 27% reduction in OSHA recordable injuries in year one.
