Responsibilities include process improvement, quality, new products,
material utilization, and technical training for the Stratford Road cutting
facility. Manage the project activities of the Cutting Technician,
Training Instructor, and fourteen QC Auditors. Wrote and implemented
process controls, standard operating procedures, and training procedures.
Key accomplishments:
. Improved total off-quality levels in the sewing facilities by 25% and
59% in our Hanes T-shirt product by instituting "quality at the
source" auditing procedures.
. Facilitated a Quality Improvement Taskforce to improve our Hanes A-
Shirt product, resulted in an overall 26% reduction in A-Shirt off-
quality
. Established process controls and implemented standardized work
procedures for our Lectra table spreading and cutting operation,
resulted in a 62% improvement in material utilization end waste.
. Implemented a recycling plan for existing materials used between the
Finishing and Cutting departments, resulted in a annual savings of
$150,000

Central America through facility visits, weekly conference calls, and

Previously was assigned to the Bleach/Finish Department in the Asheboro
facility. Responsibilities were similar in nature as to my current
responsibilities in our Stratford Road Cutting Department; I had nine
direct reports including the training instructor and eight QC Auditors.
Key accomplishments:
. Overseen implementation of a quality control device on our Finishing
equipment and conducted process improvement analysis of before and
after, resulted in a 96% improvement in fabric width stability and a
46% improvement in fabric length shrinkage.
. Overseen implementation of quick wash equipment in our lab resulting
in a 95% increase in production sampling.
. Was responsible for various projects to reduce chemical cost and
material waste, resulted in an overall 15% reduction in bleaching
chemical cost and in excess of an annual savings of $100,000 in
material usage savings
. Project Manager of several new equipment installations including
Fabcon Triple Pass Dryer, Fabcon Digital Gullwing Compactors, Acetic
Acid Bulk Tank, IMS Microwave Pre-Dryer, Raitech Quick wash machines &
fabric shrinkage software devices.
Prior to the Bleach/Finish Process Improvement position, I supervised a
twelve-hour shift in the Bleach/Finish Department. I was responsible for
the overall safety, quality compliance, production output, policy
adherence, and morale of eighteen hourly associates.
Key accomplishments:
. During my time as supervisor, our department increased production from
an average of 400,000 lbs of finished fabric per week to 850,000 lbs
of finished fabric per week by applying mostly Lean principles and
very minimal increase in equipment while at the same time converting
from a heavy weight outerwear product to a lighter weight underwear
product.
