• Experienced using training & AV equipment to include SIM-MAN & SIM-BABY Manikins, ECG Simulators, & other

Work History

Oct. 2010 – Jan. 2011: Remote Paramedic, International SOS, Franceville, Gabon (Africa)

• Provide on-site prehospital EMS & transport for expats on a manganese mining operation in Gabon (Africa).

• Staff the camp dispensary for emergent & non-emergent health care of expats & locals.

• Provide health related training & education to include CPR, 1st Aid, AED, & BBP.

• Inspect the facilities for health & safety issues.

Oct. 2008 – April 2010: Health Training Administrator/Paramedic, Kennedy Space Center Occupational Health, Florida

• Provide health related training & education for employees on Kennedy Space Center (KSC) to include, but not

limited to, CPR, First Aid, BBP, AED & other courses deemed necessary by NASA.

• Provide continuing education for health care providers to include, but not limited to, ACLS, BLS, ITLS, PALS,

and paramedic inservices.

• Provide on-site medical support as the Communications Officer with the Triage Forces during Space Shuttle

operations.

Nov. 2003 – Oct. 2008: EMS Battalion Chief, Kennedy Space Center Fire/Rescue, Florida

• Supervise Paramedics & daily EMS operations on KSC & Cape Canaveral Air Force Station (CCAFS).

• Respond as the EMS Officer to emergency 911 EMS calls.

• Review EMS run reports for QA with the Medical Director.

• Order & stock EMS supplies.

• Provide weekly CE courses & annual refreshers for paramedics & EMTs to include ACLS, BCLS, ITLS, & flight

crew helicopter training.

• Provide on-site EMS support as the Transport Officer with the Triage Forces during Space Shuttle operations.

Awards

• Presented the NASA Silver Snoopy Award in 1999 by the Astronaut Corps for starting the AED program on KSC &

CCAFS. This honor is given to less than 1% of NASA work force annually & was created in the early 1960s by the

astronauts to recognize those who work behind the scenes to make manned spaceflight possible.
