SELECTED ACHIEVEMENTS
Implemented tracking of Safety and Environmental Compliance Records
OPPORTUNITY: Recognized the lack of formal record keeping for the pipeline
locations.
RESULT: Centralize record keeping by setting up fax system where by records
could be kept electronically for easy access by compliance department
during audits.
Developed new report to track labor cost
OPPORTUNITY: Recognized the benefit to track labor cost on a per bushel
basis, creating a better way to track actual performance between facilities
cost and production figures. The system in place was costing the company
time and money in unnecessary overtime work to complete vessel loading.
Developed and implemented a new process for reviewing labor cost to actual
production.
RESULT: It gave the company a more strategic way to compare facilities, not
by total labor cost, but instead by cost per bushel.
Managed renovation of grain elevator
OPPORTUNITY: Needed to upgrade facility from an antiquated facility to a
high speed rail loading operation. Oversaw all aspects of the renovation.
Responsible for obtaining all city and state permits necessary for the job.
Worked with contractors and vendors to ensure parts and material were
delivered as needed. Maintained a working environment that conducive to the
completion of the renovation.
RESULT: Project was completed on time and on budget. Aided in the company
to better utilize their grain marketing abilities, creating more revenue.
Maintained a safe working environment
OPPORTUNITY: Provided a better work environment, enforced and trained all
employees on the importance of safety in the work place.
RESULTS: The Company has logged over one million hours with no loss time
accident as a whole while the pipeline has had three years with no
recordable incidents.
