(8.1 miles) of storm drainage pipes, 6 storm water retention basins, and
two (2) storm water pump stations, and drainage of four (4) interchanges.
All designed per California Department of Transportation design criteria.
Design work required evaluation of road center line and super elevation
profiles, interchange approach ramp design, and general road geometrics.
Gayno, Inc., Subdivision Design for the Soda Creek Subdivision, Jefferson
County, CO Designed roadways and evaluated storm runoff flows for 13.5
miles of roads for the Soda Creek subdivision, a 1,235 acre tract of land
located in Jefferson County, Colorado. Determined the 25 year and the 100
year flood plain for 1.25 miles of Soda Creek draining through the
subdivision. Designed necessary channel realignments where required to
keep flood plain within a defined area.
Harris County Flood Control District, Engineering Evaluation of the Effects
of the Angle of Entry of the Johnson-Loggins Ditch on Clear Creek, Houston,
TX Performed an evaluation and prepared a report to determine the effects
on flood levels of Clear Creek as a result of the angle of entry of the
flows from the Johnson-Logins ditch. Continuity and momentum flow
equations were used for the analysis.
Determine 100 year water surface elevations and flood plain for 4.4 miles
of Brays Bayou in Harris County, Texas Brays Bayou is a fifteen foot deep
trapezoidal shaped channel with ten foot wide bottom and 2:1 side slopes.
The Soil Conservation Service TR55 computer program was used to perform the
channel backwater analysis.
Tachi Indian Tribe, 106 acre Subdivision, Lemoore, CA Designed roadways,
lot grading, underground water, drainage, and sewer pipes. Design work
included the drainage analysis and a storm drainage detention pond with a
pump discharge system and a sanitary sewer dual pump lift station.
Bureau of Indian Affairs, Various Road Projects throughout California
(approximately 19 miles) Designed approximately 19 miles of road and
performed drainage analysis and completed design of various sizes of
drainage culverts for the roads. Included in the design work was the
sizing and design of a 24' x 8.5' steel arch culvert.
Juniper Construction, Inc., Celine Estates Subdivision, (a 5 ac / 25 lot
residential subdivision), Elk Grove, CA Designed the subdivision roads and
water, drainage and sewer lines and performed the drainage analysis of the
storm drainage system connecting to an existing storm drainage system. The
proposed drainage system also included a detention pond sized to mitigate
100 year frequency storm runoff.
Storm Drainage Analysis and Design
Project Manager and Design Engineer for numerous storm drainage systems.
The systems have consisted of the following: drain pipes ranging in size
from 12" to 96" in diameter; detention ponds to control storm runoff;
modifications to existing systems to increase flow capacity for channels
and streams; new drainage channels; and a 24' x 8.5' high steel arch
culvert.
Detention pond designs have included ponds with low earth dikes, and
detention ponds serving multiple residential subdivisions and underground
storm water detention structures.
Conducted a drainage evaluation and preliminary drainage design, and
prepared a Master Drainage Report for the Soda Creek subdivision, a 1,235
acre mountain subdivision located approximately 26 miles west from downtown
Denver, Colorado. Analysis also included 100 yr water surface
determination for approximately 6,700 linear feet of Soda Creek which flows
through the project. The total drainage area of Soda Creek drainage area
under the study comprised 3,780 acres.
Conducted drainage analysis, and prepared a preliminary design and drainage
report for a proposed 110" diameter storm sewer main in Houston, Texas.
Performed a preliminary storm drainage system analysis and prepared four
separate Preliminary Drainage Reports for 6.5 miles of the Westside
Parkway, Bakersfield, California. Also designed 8.1 miles of storm
drainage pipes and 6 retention basins for the Parkway.
Evaluated storm runoff and designed storm drainage systems for the
following commercial subdivisions:
Brown and Root Office Complex (100 ac), Houston, Texas
Century Plaza (256 ac), Harris County, Texas
City Park East (55 ac), Harris County, Texas
Completed hydraulic analysis and prepared plans for the Floodplain Map
Amendment process by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for a
commercial site project in Harris County, Texas.
Sanitary Sewer Systems Designs
Designed sanitary sewer systems, with sewer pipes ranging in size from 6"
to 60" in diameter, and several sanitary sewer lift stations and sewer
force main lines.
Completed a study and made recommendations for the size and location of a
main sewer trunk line to direct sewage flows from four (4) small sewage
treatment plants (approx. 2 mgd each) that were to be abandoned, and direct
each plant's flows through new gravity sewer lines to a new regional sewage
treatment plant. Study recommendations resulted in the construction of new
48" and 60" diameter gravity sewer trunk mains.
Performed a computer simulation study to determine direct storm water
inflow to the existing sanitary sewer collection system of the City of Fort
Bragg, CA using the EPA's Storm Water Management Model (SWMM) computer
program and prepared a Finale Development Improvement Plan Report. The
Sewer Collection system consisted of approximately 26 miles of gravity
sewer lines.
Designed Sanitary Sewer Lift Stations for:
Dual pump lift station for 55 acre City Park East commercial subdivision,
Harris County Texas
Dual pump lift station for 106 acre Santa Rosa subdivision, Santa Rosa
Rancheria - Tachi Tribe, Lemoore, California
Water Systems Analysis and Design
Performed a water distribution system network analysis to determine the
size of a new 3.5 mile long water transmission line for the City of
Longmont, Colorado. Through analysis, it was determined that the sizes
needed for the new transmission line were 48" and 36" diameter pipe lines.
Conducted a water distribution system network analysis to determine the
size of a new water main line for the 250 acre Park 10 Business Park in
Houston, Texas.
Performed a water distribution system network analysis for a proposed new
land development project in Henderson, Nevada. The proposed system
consisted of three (3) pressure zones with each having its own storage
tank.
Conducted a water distribution system network analysis for a water system
having a 75,000 gallon elevated tank and a 200,000 gallon ground storage
