My responsibilities in this position was to bring the Sun 6500
UltraEnterprise server up to specifications for Oracle 10i
applications. In order to perform this task I needed to use
my hardware knowledge coupled with my Solaris experience to
format disks, layout memory and assign users to be able to access the
Oracle server. I was also responsible for setting up the Windows
desktops for the individual users so that they could access all
the internal LAN applications as well as all Internet based

Responsible for a team of 6 people in the co-location of the companies web
site consisting of 36 Sun Ultra-Enterprise servers (E250, E3500, E450,
E4500) with Sun Storedge D1000 and A5200 Fibre channel disk arrays. I was
responsible for the installation, implementation debugging of the Web site
using Solaris 7, Apache Web Servers, Checkpoint Firewalls, Stonebeat/
Veritas high availability clusters, Veritas VxFS and Netbackup, Resonate,
Oracle 8i and Custom web based software. I managed the integration of this
software suite using scripting tools such as Perl, csh, and custom vendor
utilities from Running Start and Marchfirst. Developed Firewall security
procedures, VPN's and monitoring of this system security using Checkpoint
F/W's on the Web server and Netscreen 1000's on the E-mail server for high
volume ouput. Ernst & Young then audited me for security. I was also
involved on a day to day basis with business planning of disaster recovery,
on-call rotation and day to day mechanics of running a large Web based
shop. Developed and implemented Big Brother, Web Objects and Web Trends
software for management functions using Red Hat Linux 7.0 and forwarding
reports to appropriate departments within organization.

I was contracted to MCI as Sr. UNIX System Administrator. Primary duties
were to administer the Interact E-Commerce Internet platform for the MCI

UNIX/OpenVMS O/S, EMC Raid arrays, Apache Web Servers, Custom Report
Servers, Informix databases and mail backends using scripting tools such as
csh, PERL, Expect, BMC Patrol and Tivoli monitoring systems. Integrated Big
Brother software on Linux Red Hat v6.2 for At home connectivity and
monitoring of remote systems. I was also involved in architectural decision
and technical direction of overall system. Provided PC connectivity support
using HummingBird Software TCP/IP package to provide TCP/IP Connectivity

environment in the I/S department. I was also involved in updating the
computing platform from Vax to Alpha platforms. I migrated the ROSS
Financial Human resource package from VMS v5.5 to OpenVMS 7.2. Migrated
DecNet connectivity to TCP/IP and upgraded the DecServer products to use
this protocol.

EMC Raid Arrays and StorageTek Tape Libraries. Also responsible for the
maintenance and day-to-day operations of an SGI Challenger running our
Veritas Netbackup program for the UNIX/NT environment. I assisted in the

SENIOR TECHNICAL ANALYST (AIX v3.5-v4.3)
Designed, developed and implemented a client/server based Network
Management System (MAX/Enterprise) platform to upgrade a legacy network
management center of 40,000 nodes. This was an AIX/OS2/Windows NT platform.
I was responsible for the overall product design, test and implementation,
including the user interface. Drafted the documentation for all incoming
and outgoing WAN/LAN connections and provided monitoring tools based upon
H/P OpenView, IBM NetView, CiscoWorx, Bay Networks Optivity and assorted
proprietary Vendor provided tools. Designed and tested new interfaces for
incoming transactions and led the way for the company to break into SONET
and ATM networking. This was an international assignment, which I
participated in both Denver and Swindon, England. Developed the first draft
of the operator's guide and technical manuals and provided training. I
developed additional tools for the Security management for Intrusion
Detection, Security Breach, and for the setup of VPN on the internal
company networks. Forwarded alarms to the Security Departments with event
automation alarm management and circuit correlation. Required skills
included hardware installation, Network General Sniffer operation, IBM and
H/P Network monitoring software, developing automated routines using REXX,
csh and Perl languages, software update/maintenance of PC workstations and
UNIX servers plus diagnosing software/hardware events to effectively solve
