Receive, coordinate, report and respond to inquiries from members of

Congress and their staff. Assist with elected officials engagements and

senior leader preparation for testimony before committees. Maintain

accurate records of Army Sustainment Command (ASC) Congressional

activities. Represent the ASC Congressional at meetings with the

responsibility to deliver ASC Congressional statements. Accomplish

Draft a variety of correspondence and reports such as position papers, fact

sheets, and letters to members of Congress or congressional committees.

Draft Operational Orders for DOL Transformation; Information to Congress,

Public Affairs Guidance, and News Release on contractor reduction.

Coordinate and respond to inquiries within date of suspense or within 5

days of receipt meeting suspense 95% of the time. Request and obtain

extensions as required, reporting all late responses to management prior to

missing delivery date. Track legislation, congressional reports, and

activities with direct relationship to ASC. Keep personnel apprised

through briefing or written materials of legislative actions on LOGCAP, and

EAGLE contracts and programs, or any other congressional initiatives having

anticipated impact on major ASC missions.

. Knowledge of Congressional committee structure, staff, administrative

offices of Congress, the American Government and the relationships

between the three branches of government.

. Knowledge of policies, functions, goals, priorities, and commitments

of oversight committees such as CWC, and HOGR. Responsible for

classification, controlled unclassified information policy and

operations in order to perform program analysis and related projects

and assignments; review, research, analyze, and recommend solutions to

specific programmatic problems and issues; track issues and problems

through to resolution; and respond to programmatic questions and

correspondence.

. Apply knowledge of laws, regulations, policies and procedures

applicable to legislative and congressional activities as they pertain

to DOD, DA and AMC.

. Effectively communicate orally and in writing information in a variety

of forms with a variety of external audiences, including Members of

Congress, Congressional committee staff, and administrative officials.

. Ability to interpret and communicate complex and political sensitive

issues and then develop plans, policies, methods, and strategies to

assist in there resolution.

. Knowledge of the operations & practices related to Congressional

hearing process, Congressional committees, and House and Senate armed

Transformation, etc.

. Maintain accurate records, applicable regulation, smart books,

reference materials and contact lists for CACO actions. Support CLL

in preparing read-ahead and strategic communication plans that

facilitate contact with Congress with support from HQ as required.

the Department of Army (DA) overall legislative liaison program.
