Assistant Process Engineer

Indian Petrochemicals Limited, Baroda, Gujarat, India (Aug. 2005 -

July 2007)

. Theoretical calculations for the refinery like Energy Balance Across

the sections for Column, power requirement for pumping liquid, Dew

point calculation, calculations of Lab Properties using and matching

with Lab results, Material balance in vacuum column.

. Working as a team member to develop Simulations on HYSYS which

improved trouble shooting in major process upsets, emergencies and

process modifications.

. Reviewed and updated Process Flow Diagram (PFD) & Piping and

Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) and equipment sizing and specification

under the supervision of lead engineer.

. Performed economic line sizing and performed Hydraulic calculations

for equipments like pump and compressor per company standard design

criteria.

. Familiarity with all process design safety requirements, including

experience of HAZOP study under the supervision of Head of the

Department.

of processing facilities.

. Controlling the parameters, taking appropriate corrective measures in

case of nonconformity under the guidance of supervisor.

. Completed design project "Ketene Production Improvement", Mass and

Energy Balance carried out and heat integration to reduce the operation

cost

. Completed design project "Crude oil processing facility" and run in Hysys

with steady state and dynamic model and tuning of PID controllers and

watched their performances on the strip charts for different values of

Kc and Ti.

. Developed PFD for "Ethanol plant production" along with dynamic

simulation calculation using dynamic tool assistant in HYSYS, also

installed PID temperature and flow controllers in the PFD

. Designed Autoclave Reactor and Evaporator along with sizing of other

equipments

. Completed design project "Production of Dichlorosilen", mass and Energy

Balance carried out, cost estimation of entire plant, economics, safety

and environment.
