Re: Mark Crowl
My ** plus years in the Hospitality Industry and Property Management I feel really consists of
three important components. Resort/Hotel Management, Property Association Management, and
Community Involvement.
• Resort and Hotel Management. General Manager of Minnesota’s Premier Resorts.
Beacon Pointe Resort in Duluth, MN is a 52 Condominium Hotel (many of the
Condominiums were two and three bedroom units) awarded a four stars by Trip
Advisor. At Izatys Golf and Yacht Club, I was involved in the opening of the second
championship golf course, Black Brooke. Izatys was a corporate retreat resort,
grossing in 5.5 million during the golf season. Superior Shores Resort on Lake
Superior in Two Harbors, MN, the developer constructed the new restaurant and
convention center, along with a new phase of condominiums. Caribou Highlands
Resort is a ski in/ski out resort located at Lutsen Mountains, and was being developed
every year in the ten years I was the General Manager.
• Property Association Management. All of the resorts had both Condominium and
Town Home Association, investors, many were happy and many not with these
investments. Voyager Village during my tenure went from debt and annual losses to
debt free, capital investments of over 2.5 million dollars, and managing annual profits
with section 179 maximum annual investments, and long term capital reserve funds.
New golf course irrigation systems, pools, marinas, monthly financials and annual
meetings were all part of the job requirement.
• Community Involvement. Tourism Associations involvement ensuring that these
lodging tax dollars were being well managed for marketing. President of the Burnett
County Economic Development Association. Rotary Club membership. Board of
Director for the construction of Superior National Golf Course in Lutsen Minnesota.
Insuring that the resort I was managing was involved in the community, and just as
important, the community supported that resort.
As evidenced in the enclosed resume my experience encompasses project management,
strategic planning, sales and marketing, resource utilization, revenue growth, and cost reduction.
My ability to analyze needs and create unique solutions designed to yield a profitable outcome
has proven to be one of my greatest assets. Credited with significantly impacting bottom-line
profitability wherever I have worked, I excel at streamlining less-than-efficient procedures to boost
productivity and sales.
I know that my proven leadership skills, strong commitment to high ethical and professional
standards, and flexibility in devising proactive responses to changing socioeconomic conditions
would allow me to make a significant contribution.
Best Regards,
Mark Crowl
