Responsible for the direction and activities related to safety, production, quality, cost and delivery at the forge

plant. Also served as Continuous Improvement Coordinator and supervised forge plant lean manufacturing

activities. As production superintendent, directed activities on two shifts at the Greenwood forge plant.

• Conducted an energy conservation project which reduced the natural gas and electric utility costs.

Project implementation costs were less than $15,000 and yielded an annual savings greater than

$100,000.

• Changed Safety Culture at Forge Plant resulting in multiple Safety Awards from Forging Industry

Association (included 913 consecutive days without a lost time accident).

• Led a hearing protection effectiveness study in response to a TOSHA citation. Used Six Sigma

techniques to develop standards more stringent than required. Presented findings at the Southeast

Conference of Industrial Hygiene Association.

• Using Value Stream Analysis and PFEP, integrated Lean Manufacturing at the forge plant in 2007-2008

with estimated value greater than $90,000.
