At SECUR, the Swedish stock exchange, converted nonstandard C to ANSI

compliant C. (5 Months) Converted Pascal/RDML to UNIX C/Oracle for Telstra,

the Australian telephone companies. (6 Months) For E*Trade (San Jose, CA),

Assistant Project Leader in a port of Internet stock trading software from

VAX VMS to ALPHA VMS (64 bit Alpha). Also made year 2000 corrections. The

software was initially written in VAX Basic and C, of which both required

modification and careful testing to be executable on the Alpha. (7 Months)

Environment: VAX VMS, ALPHA, AIX, Oracle, RDB, DEC C, DEC BASIC, Pascal,

COBOL, FMS, SP2.

At Milliken & Company (Spartanburg, SC), worked in a team whose focus was

to modify existing warehousing / shipping software to allow products to be

shipped directly from the production line to customers. I handled all of

the VAX mainframe changes to the warehousing FM programs. Also, I developed

and modified SYBASE SQL stored procedures. (12 Months) Developed real-time

process control software to interface with a PLC used to dispense labels in

area rug packaging. (2 months) Developed area rug layout optimizing

software in a project that saved the company an estimated $1,500,000 per

year. The software would optimally arrange area rugs for cut out on greige

base material, minimizing waste and off-quality rugs. (10 months)

At Alcatel (Dallas, TX), under contract with Digital Equipment Corporation,

redesigned and developed server software for a client-server system used to

change structures in the electronics BOM system. Wrote technical and user

documentation. (12 Months) Environment: VAX Cluster, VAX Workstation, VMS,

MS/DOS, Oracle7, ProC, and Visual BASIC.

At Hoechst Celanese Corporation (Spartanburg, SC) (manufacturer of

polyester fiber for textile industry) designed and developed real-time

process control system (SCADA) for automated polyester bale conveying,

weighing, labeling, and tracking. The system provided work-in-process

reporting for management. Data was automatically transferred from a fault

tolerant VAX to the plant mainframe to update corporate finished goods

inventory. Client-server techniques were used to allow engineers to monitor

process conditions. All work conformed to ISO 9000 standards. (48 Months)

Environment: VAX FT, ALPHA VMS (64 bit Alpha), VAX Cluster, IBM PC, VMS,

UNIX, C, COBOL, C++, MS/DOS, Visual BASIC, and Interleaf.

At Du Pont Corporation, Recovery Management Systems (Arden, NC) designed

and developed marketing, sales, customer service, and receivable systems

for the entire division. Implemented sales and marketing systems using

client-server methodologies. Recovery Management Systems retrieved precious

metals from industrial plant tailings. Participated in attaining ISO 9000

compliance. Performed EDP and ISO 9000 audit. (24 Months) Environment: VAX

At G & H Industries (industrial management service in Arden, NC) developed

tracking and production audit trail methods to eliminate security problems
