INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE

My multi-industry experience offers the ability to develop best-practice

solutions. Specific industries are automotive, metal fabrication,

aerospace, furniture, electronics, electric transformer, and

distribution/logistics. Manufacturing included: metal fabrication, metal

stamping, metal machining, welded assembly, robotic welded assembly,

electronics, missile systems, slip rings, torque and cube motors, pancake

resolvers, RTA furniture, and injection molding.

PURCHASING

I have been responsible for upwards of $350MM worth of raw material

purchasing for companies in order to support lean enterprise operations.

Responsible for the procurement of all direct, indirect, operating

supplies, and equipment lease/purchases for manufacturing and manufacturing

operations. Implemented "dock to stock" material programs, supplier rating

programs, supplier certification programs, JIT (Just in Time) delivery of

material for production, and Kanban delivery of material for production.

I am experienced in negotiating delivery, quality, and pricing with

suppliers. Developing working relationships with suppliers from the

purchase requisition phase through the process till delivery of material.

Experienced in involving suppliers up front in development process of new

products through to production. Have dealt with overseas suppliers and

international shipments not only from the Asia but also from Europe,

Mexico, and Caribbean.

I was a member of a Corporate Materials Manager team working on corporate

wide sourcing of procurement for like items company wide. Combining all

division's needs and outsourcing them to one source with 2 year blanket

orders with set pricing on all items.

INVENTORY CONTROL

I have been responsible for various levels and dollars of inventory stores

and WIP inventory. Worked at various companies to maintain and improve

inventory levels and turns. At a slip ring/motor/rotor manufacturer,

headed a team whose goal was to reduce company inventory by 20%, actually

reduced total company inventory dollars by over 45% ($4.8MM) over a two (2)

year period while at the same time doubling inventory turns. At a RTA

furniture manufacturer, reduced raw material inventory by 28% ($930K) over

a 7-month period. At electromechanical manufacturer., reduced WIP

inventory by 39% over a 7-month period. While at Tier 1 automotive

supplier, reduced company inventory by 12% ($750K) over a 9-month period.

All reductions were cost savings of inventory and increasing inventory

turns. While working as a consultant I was able to make immediate

reductions of inventory in both inventory stores and WIP

KANBAN/LEAN MANUFACTURING

Implemented Kanban methods and programs for material receipts from

suppliers, materials releases

to production, and manufacturing of product. Extremely experienced

in Kanban implementation

and set up for Finished Goods, WIP, and Raw Materials and thus

reducing inventory. I have implemented and operated complete Kanban

systems in various types of industries.

Used Kanban in conjunction with lean manufacturing concepts in

various types of industries including

a Tier 1 automotive company and metals manufacturing. Experienced in

lean manufacturing and

cellular manufacturing. I have worked closely with manufacturing to

line sequence their process areas

to achieve lean manufacturing, cellular manufacturing, and one-piece

flow manufacturing.

Attended John Costanza's World Wide Flow College/J-I-T Institute for

training in lean manufacturing

and Kanban systems, plus trained in the Theory of Constraints.

KAIZEN & 5S SYSTEMS

I have performed and led multiple Kaizen projects/teams both in

manufacturing areas and materials/

inventory stores areas. Know all the basic concepts and ideas of

Kaizen, calculating takt time, and pulling team together to

accomplish Kaizen project goals. Have participated in and lead

Kaizen teams at various types of companies. Experienced and trained

in the Five S (5S) Philosophy and Program.

MRP/ERP

I am very experienced in MRP (Materials Requirements Planning) having

implemented four (4) MRP

systems during my career, all on time and within budget. Working

experience in Oracle, Great Plains,

MACPAC, MAPICS, MAPICS DB, DMMS, CAELUS, JBA, MACOLA, and WDS

systems. Very

experienced in basics of MRP and workings details of MRP systems.

PROGRAM/PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Served as Program/Project Manager on projects of varying sizes in my

career. Large ones include Program Manager for two (2) vehicle

launches with Nissan and one (1) vehicle launch with Subaru. All

three (3) launches included new tooling and machines to make the

product, getting equipment installed, running trials, evaluation of

parts, coordinating manufacturing start up and progress into full

production and delivery.

Program Manager for new slip ring product, which was a slip ring for

F-15 fighter plane navigational and targeting pod. Also served as

Project Manager for the relocation of three (3) major product lines

from Litton facility in PA to VA. Coordinated with sister facility

in NC, as they were also moving 3 major product lines at same time

from the same PA facility.

Engineering, Quality, Design, Sales, Purchasing, and Manufacturing .

Experienced in preparing time lines, flow charts, and activity lists

for all components of a program. Production Control experience has

I have been through one (1) QS9000 implementation and certification.

Directed re-write and updates
