RESUME SUPPLEMENTAL
INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE
My multi-industry experience offers the ability to develop best-practice
solutions. Specific industries are automotive, metal fabrication,
aerospace, furniture, electronics, electric transformer, and
distribution/logistics. Manufacturing included: metal fabrication, metal
stamping, metal machining, welded assembly, robotic welded assembly,
electronics, missile systems, slip rings, torque and cube motors, pancake
resolvers, RTA furniture, and injection molding.
PURCHASING
I have been responsible for upwards of $350MM worth of raw material
purchasing for companies in order to support lean enterprise operations.
Responsible for the procurement of all direct, indirect, operating
supplies, and equipment lease/purchases for manufacturing and manufacturing
operations. Implemented "dock to stock" material programs, supplier rating
programs, supplier certification programs, JIT (Just in Time) delivery of
material for production, and Kanban delivery of material for production.
I am experienced in negotiating delivery, quality, and pricing with
suppliers. Developing working relationships with suppliers from the
purchase requisition phase through the process till delivery of material.
Experienced in involving suppliers up front in development process of new
products through to production. Have dealt with overseas suppliers and
international shipments not only from the Asia but also from Europe,
Mexico, and Caribbean.
I was a member of a Corporate Materials Manager team working on corporate
wide sourcing of procurement for like items company wide. Combining all
division's needs and outsourcing them to one source with 2 year blanket
orders with set pricing on all items.
INVENTORY CONTROL
I have been responsible for various levels and dollars of inventory stores
and WIP inventory. Worked at various companies to maintain and improve
inventory levels and turns. At a slip ring/motor/rotor manufacturer,
headed a team whose goal was to reduce company inventory by 20%, actually
reduced total company inventory dollars by over 45% ($4.8MM) over a two (2)
year period while at the same time doubling inventory turns. At a RTA
furniture manufacturer, reduced raw material inventory by 28% ($930K) over
a 7-month period. At electromechanical manufacturer., reduced WIP
inventory by 39% over a 7-month period. While at Tier 1 automotive
supplier, reduced company inventory by 12% ($750K) over a 9-month period.
All reductions were cost savings of inventory and increasing inventory
turns. While working as a consultant I was able to make immediate
reductions of inventory in both inventory stores and WIP
KANBAN/LEAN MANUFACTURING
Implemented Kanban methods and programs for material receipts from
suppliers, materials releases
to production, and manufacturing of product. Extremely experienced
in Kanban implementation
