Design Department,
I am an innovative, practical Printed Circuit Board Designer, currently
seeking a full-time, permanent position; alternatively, I would be open to
a contract assignment which leads to a direct position. I have achieved
state-of-the-art design skills and have many years of hands-on, problem-
solving expertise. I have experience in multiple areas and I can help get
the RESULTS you are looking for. Here is a quick summary of what I have
achieved in the past:
. Worked closely with engineers and a mechanical designer to upgrade the
Slat/Flap Control System for regional jet airframes enclosure without
changing the outside envelope or weight of the product. ARINC connector
interfaces for this project, in addition to AirBus' 340/360 and Boeing's
737 and 767 jetliners.
. NASA special projects (Space Shuttle, International Space Station) and
Military THADD missile; laid out prototype printed circuit boards to help
win these and other contracts.
. Project Designer for 144 PCB layouts, schematics, parts list, software,
assembly and fabrication drawings. This contract won the Company's Blue
Chip Award and numerous Navy awards on the AEGIS program.
. Other designs: Military included Data Acquisition Box for the F15
TomCat, communication system for Fleet SAT Comm satellite system and
antenna guidance and surveillance system for AWACS. Industrial systems
included Solid State Motor Controllers and Inverter Systems. Commercial
systems included Data Over-Voice Network, Multiplexer System and Data
Management Network System.
. Worked closely with fabrication vendors to ensure quality boards for
manufacturing to assemble with ease and reduce rework.
I would be very interested in meeting the challenge offered by your
company. I would look forward to meeting with you to answer any queries
you have and discover more about how I can prove to be an asset and help
you and your company stay on the cutting edge of technology.
Sincerely Yours,
Rodney A. Beck

BUSINESS SUMMARY
I have a very extensive background in printed circuit board design,
mechanical design and management for multimillion-dollar projects. My
design experience includes Analog, Digital, RF, Power Supplies, Strip Line
and EMI/RFI using IPC, FCC, UL & CUL, CSA, VDE, Australian and ISO 9001
specifications. Designs consist of high density double sided, multilayer,
flex-tape, rigid-flex boards and the use of Blind and Buried vias,
shielding, fencing and split planes for Thru Hole, Flat Pack and Surface
Mount parts. Also support documentation i.e. Fabrication and Assembly,
Schematic Drawings and Parts List, along with interfacing with vendors. My
experience in printed circuit board design has involved me with
manufacturing to develop company design guidelines for (DFM) Auto-
Insertion, Fine Line, Surface Mount and (DFT) Auto Test Fixtures for high
volume production output.
