Project Manager
Accomplishments include the management of a project for the remediation of
over 500 security vulnerabilities in the areas of network services,
database services, and operating systems. Additionally, hosted weekly
status meetings with the customer to discuss expectations, risks, completed
progress and future activities. In a separate project, was responsible for
the implementation of Payment Card Industry compliancy. Facilitated
meetings and maintained project schedule and coordination. This successful
project was governed by an industry-mandated timeframe and required close
coordination with both EDS and client IT resources. In an additional
assignment, managed a project whose purpose was to install the latest O/S
in Microsoft servers. Was responsible for maintaining project schedule and
coordination of resources required for the transition. This effort was
successfully completed without incident. During the recent change of
daylight savings time where the existing clock time was changed, I was
assigned as project manager to implement system changes. This effort
entailed the identification of impacted systems, the determination of
required changes, and the monitoring of regression testing. At the
conclusion of the project, I managed the coordination for validating the
correct clock time in production for all systems.

Responsible for the support of over twelve PowerBuilder client-server
systems. Worked from the client site to develop documentation of all
systems using process-modeling techniques. Required to be available for 24
x 7 on-call support. Had direct interactions with the end user community to
address concerns and issues. Worked with the business community to develop
and implement system enhancements.

Managed the concurrent implementation of the Microsoft Exchange Server
project and the Microsoft Identity and Integration Server project.
Coordinated both internal and external resources who resided in different
areas of North America. Both projects were implemented successfully and
were under budget and within the scheduled timeframes. During this
assignment, my responsibilities involved:
Overall project management
The development and maintenance of two inter-dependent project schedules
using MS Project. Created a communications plan identifying project
sponsors, key decision makers, and participates necessary for the success
on both projects. Facilitated bi-weekly status calls with management and
technical leads.
Resource management
Established a supportive and collaborative relationship between team
members whose organizations embraced competing methodologies. Validated
team commitment and availability to scheduled activities and the
development of project deliverables. Managed external consulting services
through the coordination of availably between both projects as well the
monitoring and adjustment of consultant billing. Responsible for the
management and coordination of outside organizations such as EDS, SHI, and
Microsoft.
Project funds
Reviewed and initiated all requisitions for hardware, software and
consulting services. Tracked all funding commitments against actual
amounts using SAP. Authored numerous "Statement of Work" agreements.
Working with Microsoft to set expectations and direction for consulting
services. Provided signoff approval for the receipt of hardware and
software as well as the reconciliation of all invoicing activity.
Maintained funding reports for Executive Management for on these two
projects as well as other projects.
Project manager and technical lead for distributed workflow system
Conceived, designed and managed the construction and implemented of a
distributed workflow system using BEA's WebLogic Enterprise Server and
Tibco's InConcert. Reverse engineered business logic from the existing
client server application and created a comprehensive knowledge base of all
processing behaviors. Facilitated design sessions with the development
team for the development of business events and functional design. The
project was successfully implemented on schedule and with virtually no
testing errors. Was assigned to collaborate with outside development
organizations to develop function design. Provided expertise and resource
guidance in interfacing with the distributed workflow system. Developed
interaction scenarios and interfacing requirements necessary to support
services. Developed and implemented an Oracle database system as well as
stored procedures in the support of workflow interfacing with other
systems. This project was successfully implemented with no outstanding
issues.
Technical lead for Accounts Receivable System
Managed the design and development of functional requirement enhancements
and resource assignments in the support of MCI's accounts receivable
system. Developed a resource loaded project schedule using MS Project
containing all lifecycle phases including requirement interpretation,
functional design, and unit and user acceptance testing. This project was
implemented successfully within expected parameters.
