PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
California State University
Research Assistant -Mechanical Engineer at R&D Division (Solar Operated
Eagle Car)
. Designed and analyzed of driving sheaves in a continuously variable
Transmission (CVT) to reduce the power the power losses. Analysis was
carried out using Catia V5.
. Analyzed of a knuckle in a suspension system to effect material
substitution from Steel to Aluminum. Lowered weight while meeting
durability requirements. FE models build in HYPERMESH and analysis
done in Catia V5.
. DFME (Design Failure Mode Effect) Analysis to Identify, Qualify and
Reduce Design Risk.
. Learned the aspects of creating production drawing, capturing the
design intent of the part into the drawing and GD & T.
TATA Motors
Mechanical Design Engineer (Internship)
06/06-05/07
. Supported designing of Automobile Parts such as Radiator, Cooling fan
and Mounting brackets for Tata Indica Model using Catia V5.
. Designed and Supported Manufacturing of Sheet Metal Dies for Tata SFC
cabs including large body panels, Firewall, Rear corner panel and
Chassis components such as cross member Reinforcement, Rear Mounting
Bracket etc.
. Supported Engine and axle plant in designing holding fixtures /Jigs
for various machines in the assembly line and also involved in
modifying existing fixtures to hold the new components.
ACADEMIC PROJECTS:
California State University
Sterling Engine
. Organized all testing results within Microsoft Excel through the use
of Pivot tables and Macros.
. Worked on Gamma type British Sterling Engine.
. Designed cylinder cap for maximum heat transfer on Catia V5 and
analyzed by choosing different materials.
. Created some engine parts such as piston, cam, connecting rod,
cylinder cap using Catia- V5.
. Calculated Heat, Net Work done and Thermal Efficiency, and compared
with other internal combustion engines.
. Used different conditions to avoid the dead air between heat sink and
cylinder cap.
California State University
CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) & Heat Transfer
. Worked on simple design of vehicle models and tried to get maximum
speed with minimum fuel consumption.
. Used Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Cosmos Flow-Work in Solid Works
to check the design of vehicle.
. Generated Pressure and Velocity diagrams by using Solid Works.
. Rebuilt specific given design in Solid Works to get maximum Heat
Transfer using Heat Transfer Theory.
. Solved different physics problems and simulated by using Mat lab.
. Documented and communicated test results.
D.Y.PATIL College of Engineering
Rod Sucker Oil Pump
. Organized all testing results within Microsoft Excel through the use
of Pivot tables and Macros.
. Designed and created the parts of Rod Sucker Oil Pump (Working
Model).Such as lever, piston, piston rod, outer pipe casing, oil
reservoir, test rig container, bush bearing, sucker cylinder and
delivery pipe elbow using Pro/E.
. Draw detailed drawing and assembled using Pro/E software.
. Rod sucker oil pump is a positive displacement pump, which can handle
fluids for moderator viscosity liquids. Such as oil, chemical
slurries, sand pumps, municipal sewage disposal pumps etc. This pump
can lift oil 10,000 feet or more.
. This rod sucker oil pump has capacity of 1.428 liter/ minute.
S.V.P.E.S. College of Engineering
Allen Rotary
. Working on Allen Rotary.
. Designing, Drafting and calculating of different parts such as Curved
blades, Rotor, Shaft, Bush etc. using Auto Cad Tool.
. Allen rotary, which is connected with the tractor. It is used to
remove unwanted plants from land. It is made of four curved blades.
Blades have rotary motion. These blades are mounted on shaft. Shaft is
mounted on ball bearing. So these bladders can freely rotate in
clockwise direction.
