CAREER OBJECTIVE: to apply the organizational, research, design and
graphic/artistic skills I have towards a position where there is room for
responsibility, innovation, creativity and growth.
Graphic Artist/Photographer with Dominion Enterprises from 08/1997-12/2010.
The branch I work with, For Rent Magazine is a monthly 320-page
publication that advertises apartment homes for rent. I am the sole graphic
designer for this publication, serving 4 account executives and a sales
manager. My responsibilities include design and execution of all the ads
from concept to final completion. This also includes generating the book in
final pdf form and sending it to our pre-press department. I also
photograph and provide virtual tours for our apartment communities. Also
previously produced another publication After 55. Produce numerous flyers,
brochures, cds, etc.
Previous Employments have included Assistant to the Registrar at the
Columbus Museum of Art (1993- 1996) where I assisted two registrars with
collection management, computerization of the collection, conservation and
condition reporting. I also documented and researched the collection and
handled all incoming and outgoing loans and off-site art loans. I traveled
to other art museums in the country doing condition reporting on our loans
to them.
I was the Assistant Director of Media Resourctes at the Maryland Institute
College of Art in Baltimore from 1991-1993. At that position I managed and
supervised the addition of slides to our collection of over 60,000 slides,
video and audio tapes that were provided for faculty and student research
and lectures. I selected the material to be photographed, filling in art
historical gaps where needed and supervised -8 employees and students
coordinating photography of slide material and data entry.
In 1989-1991 I was a Print Cataloger at the Baltimore Museum of Art. This
was under a National Endowment for the Arts two year grant to research and
catalog approximately 5,000 prints. Collection consisted of 19th Century
European, Old Master and 17th through 20th Century European and American
artists.
From 1981-1987 San Francisco Museum of Modern Art I was a Curatorial
Assistant in the Photography Department . Under Van Deren Coke I organized
and researched an average of fifteen, 20th Century and Contemporary
photography exhibitions per year. Researched artists and works for
exhibitions, this included archiving of permanent collection preparing
biographies and cataloging. I approved the designs for exhibition
announcements and catalogs. While there I also curated two exhibitions from
concept to installation - Light: From Illumination to Pure Radiance and
Photography from the Last Decade, catalog.
EDUCATION:
BFA Painting & Drawing, minor in Art History, Kent State University, Kent,
Ohio 1978
Recently have completed two workshops on PHOTOSHOP Advanced Techniques and
training in INDESIGN.
COMPUTER SKILLS - IMAC OSX.5.8. Skilled in PHOTOSHOPCS, INDESIGN, QUARK,
ILLUSTRATOR, and many others. Also skilled on PCs WORD and EXCEL.
Skilled in Photography, Painting and Virtual Tours, currently enrolled in
classes for HTML and CSS.
