Responsible for Toyota's engineering design, development, R&D and
manufacturing activities in US, Canada, Mexico
Advisor, Production Operation (2008 - Present)
Provide operational and lean manufacturing expertise to all 12 North
American Toyota manufacturers to maintain competitiveness with competing
automotive companies in the industry. Oversee high impact Kaizen events for
all plants that are in line with yearly improvement targets. Establish long
term metrics, measurements and tools to improve efficiency in all North
American operations. Develop program acceleration strategies and analyze
North American operations, capabilities, and strategic lean implementation.
Conduct monthly meetings with the North American President to report
operation results and recommend actions to improve current conditions.
COST REDUCTION & PROCESS IMPROVEMENTS: (North America Project)
. Led the successful implementation of lean proactive tool in 12 North
American operations to eliminate overstaffing of production employees
during unfavorable market conditions, achieving a $25 million
reduction.
. Led continuous improvement project involving all stakeholders,
internal and external. Managed change process by motivating need for
change, inspired vision of new method, and sought feedback from
General Managers of 12 plants to gain their commitment. Utilized HR's
policy deployment to align functional groups, such as Production
Planning & Accounting Finance, with the business objectives of the
corporation.
Specialist, Production Operation (2006 - 2008)
Reinforced lean manufacturing (kaizen, value stream mapping, standard work,
5s, etc.) at four North American plants to improve productivity, quality,
safety, and operating profitability. Led strategic projects that resulted
in a cross-departmental impact. Track and analyze Key Performance
Indicators and benchmark lean practices from Toyota's regional operations
in Japan, North America, and Europe. Build positive working relationships
with Toyota North American plant executives and corporate departments.
OPERATIONAL TURNAROUND: (Mexico Project)
. Consulted with the leadership team of the Mexico plant to deliver
bottom-line improvements through effective implementation of
standardized work, management by takt time, workplace organization,
and visual management. Resulted in a 60% improvement in operational
efficiency through the flawless execution and compliance to
standardization. The plant received the highest customer satisfaction
in quality (JD Power award) while exceeding profit objectives.

Managed day-to-day operations of the Assembly Department with
responsibility for improving efficiency, reducing cost, and upholding
Toyota quality standards. Managed 28 employees and a $840K operating
budget. Obtained trainer certification of Toyota Production Systems, and
coached team members by sharing technical knowledge, process development
and work method ideas.
PRODUCTIVITY IMPROVEMENT: (Project)
. Eliminated eight processes utilizing TPS tools and introduced the
concept of primary process kaizen teams in one month, reduced
operating costs by $240K annually.
. Facilitated two quality circle teams within the Assembly Department to
eliminate variation and strive for zero defects, resulted in three
months production with zero defects.
