Introduction I am an experienced manager and leader that's self-
starting, goal oriented, who strives for continuous
improvement in processes as well as team members. I appreciate
having short-term as well as long-
term goals and feel I communicate them well to my subordinates
as well as other team mates.
Interests & I'm very interested in Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing and
would like to be in an environment where I
Objectives can put these practices in place. I've always been involved in
Safety & Wellness in the workplace and
feel I'm very effective in these areas. Having an extensive
technical background, I quickly come to
understand not only the big picture but all of the little snap
shots that make up the big picture. I under-
stand business as well as people, and always do my best to help
put together a symbiotic relationship that
everyone is happy with.

computers and servers running simultaneously. I did weed out a
few that we kept on as technicians, though.

To whom it may concern,
I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Jack Lehr. I am currently
seeking a position in technical management, project management, or safety
program administration. Currently, I'm taking a class that will allow me
to obtain my Green Belt in Six Sigma, with an emphasis on Lean
Manufacturing. I'm scheduled to test on June 4th, 2011 and should receive
my certification from ASQ shorly thereafter. Throughout my career, I've
held various titles, although ultimately, I've been a problem solver,
whether the problem currently exists, or is anticipated, I've been
responsible for providing solutions.
I've been involved in field support for office machines, computers, and
networks throughout my career. I've always been able to empathize with end-
users of all levels and effectively communicated with them.
For the last 13 years, I've been involved in the printing industry,
managing commercial prepress teams, and designing workflows, primarily from
an IT perspective, but also been responsible for systems and applications
development as well. I'm very familiar with all the latest technologies
employed by the printing industry. I also was a safety team member
throughout, held safety training classes, and have kept current in all
local, state, and national employment rules, (HIPPA, OSHA, ADA, etc.) I
also had my first exposure to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) compliance and
implementation. I've recently developed a strong interest in Six Sigma
principles and Lean Manufacturing and would really like to expand my
knowledge and be able to apply the principles through practical
applications and possibly pursue certification in this discipline.
Prior to that, I was a Senior Systems Engineer, focusing primarily on mixed
system environments. I also managed installation teams in remote locations
(sometimes 4 or 5 teams at a time).
When we lived in Fort Wayne, Indiana, I worked for Fort Wayne Community
Schools as a Computer Technician. I was responsible for thousands of
classroom computers (Apples & Macs), DEC VAX networks, Unix networks, some
CAD labs, and just about everything else that didn't fit into someone
else's specific job description.
While in the Navy, I was a 2nd Class Petty Officer in the Communications
Technician (Maintenance) rating. I was responsible for maintaining all of
our equipment (crypto, multiplexers, transmitters, receivers, antennas,
teletypes, satellite equipment) as well as some other communications
equipment and had my first exposure to computers (Sperry Univacs), as part
of the NavMACS system (Naval Modular Automated Communications System). I
also held a Cosmic/Top Secret/Atomal security clearance.
My experience is wide and varied, although computers and IT have been a
constant since the early 80's. Customer service and support have been a
constant throughout as well. I know how to take care of people and their
equipment.
I can furnish multiple references to my dedication, aptitude, character,
and integrity. I'd certainly appreciate an opportunity to interview with
you.
Thank you for your time,
Jack Lehr
