Claims Cycle Time Analytics - USAA, San Antonio August

Technical/QA Lead

United Services Automobile Association (USAA) is one of the leading

Insurance, Banking and Investment Company founded by military personal to

serve military personal and their family members. The purpose of this

project is, the claims business doesn't have access to reliable data for

key claims cycle times. Cycle times have proven to be a key metric to

measure and improve not only business efficiency, but member satisfaction.

A cycle time is duration between two events on a claim. "First Notice of

Loss" and "Claim Close" are two separate "events" during a claim. To

accomplish this requirement there are many claims operational sources that

need to be acquired and integrated. This project will acquire those sources

and load them into the Data warehouse. This project is linked with a

second, interdependent project that will, create critical path cycle time

dashboards and related analytics, also provide additional reporting on the

critical path events.

Responsibilities:

. Worked closely with Business Analysts to gather the requirements by

interacting with Business users.

. Participating in the requirements review meeting to review and refine

requirements gathered in the pre work.

United Services Automobile Association (USAA) is one of the leading

Insurance, Banking and Investment Company founded by military personal to

serve military personal and their family members. The project constituted

building a web front end for the legacy mainframe property application.

This was done for different lines of business. The conversion of valuable

personal property has been completed by our team. Also in the current

environment user is not able to complete the mortgagee selection within the

.com application. We have provided the capability to search and select

mortgagee information with the flow of the Homeowners .com application.

This feature allows the user to complete the issue process themselves on

.com. The property business does not have access to reliable data to know

how many transactions are done for the given period of time. The

infrastructure provided in this effort, acquire detailed analytical data to

be used to create dashboards. The property business service team also

provided MSR and member's access to the simplified Homeowner and Renters

products. The simplified property insurance programs primary benefit is the

upgrading of the property legacy underwriting and pricing infrastructure

with more robust and agile platforms. The infrastructure provided in this

effort, enables the development of a sophisticated pricing model and

improved risk assessment tools for the new simplified Homeowners and

Renters products.

replacements. One of the module in the PB is OTC. The primary role is to

support OTC. Whose main functionality involves the processes that affect

customers, from the time an order is taken until receipt of payment. OTC

includes 30 different applications. The major applications are Order Entry,

Billing, Invoice generator & Accounts receivables (A/R).
