General Purchasing Manager (2005-2008)
Responsible for South America General Purchasing, leading acquisition of local and imported
equipment, tooling, machinery, MRO, packaging, chemicals, services (banks, catering, logistics,
cleaning, Engineering development projects) and specific raw-materials to supply the
operations of Brazil and Argentina.
Management of annual purchasing of US$ 115 million from 1,700 suppliers for the plants of São
Paulo, Canoas (Brazil) and Jesus Maria (Argentina), coordinating a team of 15 employees
(supervisors, buyers and purchasing analysts).
P roject management with cross-functional teams for business cases, saving projects and process
i mprovement.
Main achievements:
• Structuring General Purchasing area in the company resulted from MWM (acquired
f rom Knorr-Bremse) and In ternational Engines merge: team building, process redesign,
ERP consolidation and culture unification.
• Average cost reduction of 5,4% over periodic purchasing through implementation of
commodity strategy and cost reduction methodology, concentrating business, reviewing
contracts, specifications and optimizing supplying base. We surpassed the cost
reduction objective which was part of the bonus distribution metrics.
• Contribution to CGI machining line investment approval through commercial
negotiation with German, American, Japanese and Brazilian suppliers and project
reduction of US$ 4,6 million.
• Banking services bidding process with financial advantages of US$ 2,5 million and
services improvements.
• Purchasing process centralization in order to leverage purchasing power, adequate to
Sarbanes Oxley Law and reduce purchasing lead-t ime: 98% of total company’s
p urchasing was negotiated and formalized by Purchasing Department.

control associates.
Main achievements:
• Implementation of Average Price’s Increase metric for periodic purchasing. We surpass
t he goals for this metric achieving the increase avoidance of 41% for MRO and 70% for
services.
• Implementation of electronic purchasing requisition, improving the reliability,
t ransparency and purchasing lead-time.
• Improvement of warehouse inventory control through new process and cultural changing
and achieving better inventory accuracy results.
• Implementation of material’s receiving area in Sao Bernardo do Campo plant,
centralizing operation and improving the receiving process.
F rom 2004 on in addition to the General Purchasing Supervision I was assigned to build a team
and work methodology to support the Purchasing and Logistics department on the following
issues: Strategic Planning, Sarbanes Oxley compliance and Process Improvement. I recruited

• Organization, control and follow up of all action plans regarding to strategic planning of
Purchasing and Logistics area in order to ensure i ts accomplishments.
• Coordination of Sarbanes Oxley compliance in Purchasing being the interface with
auditors, organizing and ensuring the accomplishments of action plans to processes and
metrics adequacy.
• Creation, coordination and follow-up of Direct Suppliers In ternal Commit tee that had
