Designer Feb.89 to Jan. 05
3D solid modeling and 2D detailing of parts, GD&T, ISO 9000,
checker changes and redesigning of parts, for Ford, GM,
Chrysler, Visteon and other auto companies. Other duties
consist of designing machine fixtures some tool design for
machines, Chassis and suspensions parts, designing of
complete dyno rooms for Ricardo & GM from scratch from water
breaks, fuel and exhaust to computer connection, Hands on
tear down of engine parts, Some Wiring Harness, gas line
routing work and connectors design, Cloud Data and CMM design
from point Data and concept design and details model transfer
from software to software. I've design molds for castings,
plastics, powdered metal, sand, and worked with and in
pattern & machine shop to make sure they came out right &
designed the Viper throttle body and all the parts in & on
it, from shafts to the plastic bar links to actuate the
stainless steel butterfly valves to the molded air inlet
that's in the car today!

Skills and Abilities:
18 years of software knowledge in Cadds5 -4x, Catia 3-4,SDRC-
series 7-8,IDEAS 11,Pro-E, Pro2001i, Wildfire 1-2,UG, UGnx -
nx2 with Iman, Solidworks 2006, and other MS software and
have certificates of completion.
I've worked on many programs for Ricardo Inc. over the years
from GM's Gen project, GM's High feature V6 and China project
Gm's Transmission valve body design using UG, UGnx, UGnx2
with Iman for 8-9 years creating models from surface data
like oil pumps, ac brackets, water inlets, heat shields,
inlets and exhaust manifolds and all about the chassis.
Visteon's throttle body design for the Viper/Srt10 using
Catia for this part, I been using Catia sense it went from
verse 3-4. This part is being used in the cars today and I
was the only designer on the job. I done work On the Prowler
Bell housing and remodeled their part from surface data to
detailing of many parts like inlets and exhaust manifolds to
crank and camshafts the list goes on.
STM's Sterling engine I used solid works for 5 years creating
models and assemblies for this job from cylinder sleeves,
valves and push rod to the head design.
The in house jobs started on the board and I took it upon
myself to learn Cadd5 and design a single Cylinder block with
crank and balance shafts, gear and spine design so we can
test all kinds of heads for the big 3,and later transferred
the surfaces to Catia to create a solid model. /GM's Hydra
program was done in UG same design was incorporated in this
job, Detriot Diesel's three cylinder engine, where I used
Catia to design a bedplate, balance shafts, gears and oil pan
and pump Transmission parts, worm paths, bell housing for the
Prowler and parts for the viper and 2D detailing.
Nissan was one of my last jobs with Ricardo they sent me to
training on IDEAS 10-11 worked on the job for a month or so
and the job got pushed back so I jumped from program to
program to help the other designers.
Stewart and Stevens I used Wild Fire 2 to design front end
components and AM General I used Pro-E 2001i to design
steering parts and put them in and assembly for the steering
to be analyzed by engineers. I been using Pro-e for a good 8-
9 years I've also worked On programs like Caterpillar and
John Deere engine I done Dyno room design from scratch from
piping layouts some wiring harness work to dyno bedplate and
test fixtures and reverse engineering and all the dyno rooms
at Ricardo from the cooling towers to gas feed line to all
the components in the rooms. And done other things to keep
productivities up.
Personal note: I'm very dependable and pick other software
very easy. I work well with others given a chance. I'm eager
to work, Very versatile and learn as much as I can to make my
job and others more productive and for the satisfaction of
the customer and for everyone that is involved to make the
company the best and natural first choice when and where the
customer's need it.
I came out here in 1988 from California and worked for
A.J.Segal and sons as a manual drafter designing ducts for
all kinds of buildings, but they went out of business. So
from there I worked for Batten design and engineering
detailing on the broad designing heads, manifolds, and other
parts for the 2.5 L and the split port where I designed the
ports. I helped with the McClain engine and helped with the
Liberty Hydraulic lifter engine for Chrysler. I designed
camshafts, crankshafts, throttle bodies, pistons, Valves, oil
pans, intake manifolds, exhaust manifolds, Transmission parts
and bell housings to plenums and other components, and stack
ups for fit and function. I helped in the pattern shop and
ran dyno machines, even did tear down for a Ford
presentation.
I took it upon myself to learn cad software to help the
company. I learned Cadds 4x and 5 and was very proficient
with it. I help fix models and drawings for the Ferrari
transmission and helped design our single cylinder engine and
related components from the block the crank the balance
shafts, and jackshafts and gears, spline shafts. I learned
Catia v3-4 and was very good at modeling.
I learned ProE on my own to help my company grow. I helped
design and detail parts and knows most of the Big 3's design
standards. I learned solid works to Catia to Pro-e to UG to
IDEAS and worked from cloud Data, CMM to create models, I
worked from concept phases all the way to Production. And so
on there is nothing I can't do if I give it my all.
