Staples, Akron OH, 1999-2002
Store Manager, Canton Center
- Awarded store after successful term at Arlington Road store. Improved Store performance in
terms of Sales and Profit. Store was closed in 2002. The mall was sold and the building was
converted to a Wal-Mart.
Store Manager, Arlington Rd.
- Opened new operation for Staples. Oversaw all facets of new store. Including fixture
placement, hiring and training of employees, product placement and all marketing efforts. New
Store opened with the all time opening day sales volume record for Staples. Continued to grow
sales for two years by working with local businesses and chambers.
Kohl‘s, Macedonia OH, 1994-1999
Hard Lines Manager.
- Opened new Kohl‘s Store in Macedonia. Hired and trained 30-50 new employees for retail
store. Oversaw all daily activities from day one through Grand Opening in Hard lines area.
Utilized organizational skills and personal traits to assure 100% compliance to corporate
standards. Area of responsibility included: children‘s clothing, domestics, housewares, shoes,
frames and seasonal items.
- Achieved all sales goals and profit goals while Hard Lines Manager. Worked closely with
buyers and Sr Management to recognize demographics of community. This resulted in a unique
product assortment for our customers. The assortment allowed us to maximize sales while
minimizing markdowns and eroded margins.
