Scholastic is a global book publishing company known for

publishing educational materials for schools, teachers, and parents, and

fairs. The project involved designing new Essbase and Planning modules for

the Capital, Labor and Warehouse processes, creating Drill through

functionalities, upgrading environment from 9.3 to 11.1.1.3, User training, Financial reports development, automation scripting and documentation.

As a Hyperion Developer

1. Implemented three new Planning modules for Warehouse, Capital and

Labor process for various divisions in the company. Created task lists,

data forms, composite forms, business rule etc for these modules by working

with financial users in the company. The budgeting and forecasting process

for each of these modules was built using Planning cubes with automation

using HAL and batch scripts.

2. Created an Audit Essbase application which loads application log files

and reports on users and the activities occurring in any cube at anytime to

The objective of the project was to set up a Performance Management

tool for Tenet Healthcare using Hyperion. In this case, Oracle's

Enterprise Process Management System 9 has been chosen to provide a variety

of applications including OLAP capabilities, Interactive Reporting for

dashboards and scorecards and its reporting suite to design reports that

can be used via a number of reporting mediums (e.g., web, paper, on-screen)

as well as ad-hoc reporting capabilities through the use of SmartView,

Analytic Services or an Excel Add-in.

as ASO vs BSO, partitions needed, dense and sparse members, data

Project Scope:

The project was carried out in Social Security Administration, MD as it was

a client of Lockheed and Martin. The scope of the project is to upgrade

Brio 8 x versions to 9.3.0 and build dashboards from the Oracle environment

and also to troubleshoot the older reports to be compatible with the new

version. The datamodel is to be created for each of these dashboards and

queried from them. The dashboards go through a full cycle of SDLC like

requirements gathering, developing, testing and signoff to production. The

reports are used by the top tier management to maintain and take decisions

on various financial and management tasks.

portfolio cubes to manage recurring multi-billion dollar cash flows and

cash management needs. The goal of this project was to develop a cube to

provide a central repository.

1. Developed and optimized calculation scripts for the block storage cube.

2. Used .rpt (report scripts) to capture data to load back into the cube

for backup and recovery process to improve performance.
