the coordination of the department's faculty search and casebooks for
reappointment, promotion, and tenure. Work with the chair, faculty search
committee, and the College of Engineering, Office of Academic Affairs, in
accordance with policies and procedures outlined for searches,
reappointment, and promotion and tenure. This includes meeting submission
deadlines, casebook preparation and review, maintaining confidential
materials, and discretion, both internally and externally, concerning
searches and casebook submission. Act as liaison, initiate correspondence
with candidates, coordinate all travel arrangements and reimbursements,
develop detailed itineraries, and provide hosting. Attend faculty meetings
concerning candidate's potential, take detailed minutes, and provide
meeting summary and consensus of candidate's standing with the search
committee.
Outreach and Programming. Organize receptions, lunches, dinners,
lectures, campus visits, and events including: act as liaison, catering,
facilities, advertising, itineraries, photography, and facilities tours.
Work with the chair and development staff on fundraising initiatives.
Organize upper level seminar course, AEROSP 585, including communication
with guest speakers, travel, and itineraries. Maintain department database
of faculty, staff, alumni, donors, and contacts; create and customize
queries and reports to specific needs and maintain department's faculty and
staff directory. Provide administrative and editorial assistance for the
department's annual newsletter, including: draft, edit, and proof news
items, and design and organize material for publication.
