Norelco products. As Sr. SIOP Manager responsible for world-wide sales
inventory and operations planning for Sonicare.

Responsible for all functional areas of the manufacturing operation (QA,
Production, Shipping and Warehousing, Production Planning, Purchasing and
Maintenance). Accomplishments included buying the first packaging machine
and reducing 6 FTEs per shift, hiring and developing the Production
Planning Supervisor, hiring the first Maintenance Mechanic and QA
Supervisor, improved ingredient purchasing process, and staffed and trained

Starbucks Coffee Company, Seattle, WA
1999-2007
Delivered strong results in two key management positions, during period of
rapid growth at the Kent Roasting Plant- the company grew from
approximately 1,200 stores to over 10,000 and from stores in 9
international countries to stores in 37 countries, transitioned to a
director role in the corporate headquarters to support a major company-wide
systems upgrade and supported new business initiatives requiring Supply
Chain commitments.
Plant Director (2001 - 2006) / Director of Business Unit Liaison (2006 -
2007)
Managed a $14 million budget, provided strong leadership for a team of
350 employees and 30 leaders, and directed activities to produce over 65
million pounds of coffee annually and distribute coffee and store
merchandise to over 2,000 stores and 6,000 Food Service customers.
Process Improvement/Team Development/Leadership
> Increased plant production from 1.1 million pounds of coffee per
week to an average of 1.35 million pounds per week. Focused on
optimizing the coffee delivery and packaging system and reducing
constraints resulted in a gain of over 200,000 pounds, a 20+%
improvement, with zero capital dollars spent.
> Initiated the process to create a World Class Maintenance Team: the
process included training, small group meetings, team building, and
related activities to support the changes and ensure success.
> Directed the implementation World Class Manufacturing (Lean
Manufacturing) which quickly resulted in a 50% reduction in
changeover downtime, shadow boards, and process changes. Some of
the actions that were incorporated were Small Group Activities
(Kaizen Events), 5S activities, Process Improvement and
Communication Boards.
> Integrated Seattle Coffee Company into the plant after the company
was acquired by Starbucks. This added over 10 million pounds and
doubled the coffee SKUs for the plant. It also added the
distribution of SBC products which was a 40% increase in pick
volume.
Project Management/Execution
> Supported the Store Delivery team by acting as an internal
consultant to a third party delivery company (Bartlett Dairy in
NY); consulted with the company on developing and implementing a
strategic plan, an annual operating plan and validating they had
the bandwidth to support the long-term growth for the New York
region.
> As Director of Business Unit Liaison, served as Manufacturing
Project Lead representing domestic and international plants during
company-wide $100,000,000 Oracle upgrade; managed process to
consolidate the requirements gathering into one session cutting 8
weeks off the project timeline.
> Supported coffee production planning for the grocery expansion into
the UK as project lead for the Supply Chain Organization in
Director role.
Distribution Operations Manager (1999- 2001)
Responsible for all aspects of warehousing and distribution operations,
with responsibility for managing delivery requirements for 15
international markets and over 1,500 retail locations, as well as
Inventory Control, Receiving, managing outside storage and supporting
other sales channels such as Grocery(Kraft & Costco), Food Service and
Specialty Sales divisions.
> Established Key Performance Indicators for the distribution
operation to measure performance and support future budget
processes; developed a communication board for plant employees to
track performance; prepared monthly PowerPoint presentations to
keep the plant management informed of progress and action plans for
the future.
> Eliminated the need for an annual physical inventory by focusing
the distribution team on inventory accuracy year over year.
