2007 to 2009 - Sun Chemical Corporation - Cincinnati, Ohio - Batch Inks
and Pigments Manufacturing
Senior Environmental Engineer
Provided support to more than eighty manufacturing, warehouse, and
customer service locations throughout the United
States and Canada on all waste and water-compliance issues. Assisted
sites with filing of Tier II, Toxic Release
Inventory (TRI), and Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC)
reports. Assisted corporate audit team with environmental,
health, and safety audits. Provide Web-based training on
environmental, health, and safety topics.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Training Needs Assessment - Served on team assessing ways improve
training materials and methods in order to best meet
regulatory requirements, corporate requirements and site needs and

Universal Waste Training Webinar - Collaborated with
colleague to research universal waste regulations in twenty-four
states. Provided training via Webinar and provided sites with

Laboratories) - Ashland, Ohio - Rubber, Plastic, and Latex Manufacturing
Environmental Staff Specialist
Managed all environmental programs for two manufacturing facilities
and one warehouse. This included fifteen air permits and RCRA large-
quantity generator status. Duties included implementation of
corporate programs, conducting self-audits, maintaining environmental
Standard Operating Procedures, and conducting employee-training
classes. Secondary responsibilities involved safety and industrial
hygiene compliance. Lead spill-response team. Served as primary
contact for the shipment of hazardous materials by highway, air, rail
and water. Supervised two employees.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Rubber Recycling Project - Implemented recycling program for rubber
scrap which resulted in annual waste disposal savings of $30,000 and
the creation of a cost center annually generating an average of
$10,000.
Process Waste Water Disposal - Utilized idle waste water treatment
plant to treat latex process waste water to levels which would allow
discharge to sanitary sewer. Eliminated waste water disposal costs of
$40,000 annually.
SPCC Plan - Identified projects required for compliance with revised
regulations and drafted new SPCC plan.
D.O.T Training - Reviewed DOT training requirements and designed and
implemented a training program to ensure compliance. Resulting
program was adopted by corporate office.

Environmental and Safety Specialist
Managed all safety and environmental issues, including worker's
compensation. Safety duties included plan audits, industrial
hygiene sampling, selection and purchase of personal protective
equipment, and writing of standard operating procedures.
Environmental duties included oversight of environmental permits
for all media, hazardous and solid waste and handling of spills and
releases. Assisted in Process Hazard Analysis with Engineering Group.
Additional duties involved loss control and security issues. Handled
Responsible Care auditing and reporting.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Title V Air Pollution Permit - Worked with local Air Pollution
Control Bureau and company attorneys to negotiate flexible
operating terms to accommodate a timely response to market demands,
thus increasing opportunities for revenue.
Risk Management Plan - worked closely with consultant to ensure
that plan met all the regulatory requirements. and represented the
company at the public presentation of the plan.
Loss Control - Managed project to bring the facility into compliance
with insurance company recommendations.
Safety Training - Created and implemented OSHA-compliant safety
training program.

Environmental and Safety Specialist
Full responsibility for management of health, safety, environmental,
and worker's compensation programs at a facility in Texas and one in
Tennessee. Managed two annual budgets, totally approximately
$130,000. Also responsible for worker's compensation and loss control
programs. Wrote and implemented policies and programs. Conducted
employee training. Acted as head of the safety council at both sites.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Reduction in accident rate - efforts at increased safety training and
awareness resulted in a new LTA record and a decrease of 84% in
recordable accidents. Received award from the Tennessee Safety
Council.
Air permitting - acquired new air permits for two plant expansions,
including one costing $4M and modified one existing air permit for a
new process. As a result, permits were received in time for on-time
completion of projects.
Emergency Action Plan -- revised at both plants.
Asbestos Removal Projects - managed three capital projects for
asbestos removal and completed them on time and near or within budget.
Title V Air Regulations - as a member of the Air Quality Subcommittee
of the Chattanooga Manufacturers Association, worked with the local
regulatory agency ensure that Title V regulations were friendly to
local industry.
1991 to 1993 - FLOYD BROWNE ASSOCIATES, INC. - Marion, Ohio - Environmental
Consulting
Environmental Specialist
Duties included project management, regulatory research, report
generation, sample collection, and health and safety
compliance.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Site Manager and Site Safety Officer - Underground Storage Tank
removal and installation. Responsible for health and
safety of all persons on site during excavation and removal.
Researched permitting requirements and prepared permit applications as
required by the Ohio Bureau of Underground Storage Tank
Regulations (BUSTR) and the Ohio EPA. Coordinated all
activities between client, contractor, and regulatory agencies.
Project Manager - Underground Storage Tank removal and installation.
Prepared applications for the removal and installation permits
from BUSTR and the Ohio EPA. Sampled tank contents and
excavation soil and water, as required for closure. Documented all
phases of closure. Compiled and wrote closure report.
