Insurance Specialist – Compliance

In this position I completely reviewed policies from various insurance companies within the state

of Texas. Specifically, I dealt with all Commercial Lines insurance (i.e. GL, Crime, Umbrella, P&C,

etc.) and keeping the policy compliant with the State of Texas.

Analyzed new, unapproved insurance polices to make sure they were in compliance with Texas

Statutory Requirements.

Worked with the insurance companies to amend wording in policies to make it compliant prior to

presenting the policy to the Associate Insurance Commissioner for approval. Also explained why

the policy was not compliant.

Created presentations of the various polices for insurance company, then presented for

recommendation of approval to the Associate Commissioner.

Once the policy was approved, contacted insurance companies with approved policy or if it was

not approved, explain the reasons it failed and how the policy could be amended to be reviewed

again.

Responded to questions and concerns of the insurance company throughout the review process.

Worked on preparation of House Bill responses during Legislative Session.

Contributed to establish proposals to legislature.

Continually updated knowledge of legislation as changes occurred.
