To whomever it may concern,
After coming across your posting, I read that your company offers a superior internship in the field of
public policy. This internship is of interest to me because I believe that I possess the education needed to
successfully be involved in your organization.
I have received a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology and a Minor in Business Administration from the
University of California in Riverside. I have dedicated myself as a full time student and have been
involved in the National Society of Collegiate Scholars as well as the Golden Key International Honors
Society. During my Junior undergraduate year I have received both the Dean's list and Chancellor's list
honors awards to which I am upholding throughout my Senior year.
I have successfully presented a research project studying the social and environmental effects of cancer
while holding the position of a research intern in the Mentoring Summer Research Internship Program
during Summer 2010 at UC Riverside. I was conducting research on this topic during Spring 2010 which
greatly strengthened my understanding of the subject. My academic motivation is an indicator that I am
ready to be fully involved in this internship. Furthermore, I am skilled in Microsoft Office applications
such as Word, Power Point, Database, and Excel. Familiarity with these programs has aided my ability to
communicate effectively.
I would like the opportunity to set up an interview with you at your convenience. Should you have
questions, please feel free to email me at abhf75@r.postjobfree.com or call me at 925-***-**** anytime after 4
p.m. Thank you very much for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Matthew William Baker
