Vice President and Office Manager - Responsible for all aspects of
environmental engineering business for office of 35 staff and
annual revenue $12 mm gross and
$7.1 mm net. Duties also included direct management of client
projects for BP, Marathon, Sherwin-Williams, Amtrak, CSX and
Bridgestone. Have applied extensive project management skills to
CERCLA, TSCA, UST and Illinois Site Remediation
Program projects and to complex real estate transactions.
Earth Tech, Inc. (1996-2003)
Program Manager - Responsible for business development and management
of client programs and projects for profit and repeat business.
Currently responsible for programs/projects valued at $1.25mm. Leading
efforts to secure another $1.50mm in new business. Program Manager
for the City of Chicago, Department of Environment and Department of
Aviation and with the Retail Marketing Division of the Phillips
Petroleum Company.
Woodward-Clyde Consultants (1992-1996) and (1981-1984)
Vice-President (1995-1996) - Defined and implemented programs and
processes to meet office-wide gross revenue ($6mm) and profit goals
(6% on net revenues). Responsibilities also included business
development and management of client projects ($1mm) involving
environmental liability and risk management, hazardous waste site
investigations and remediations, environmental compliance audits and
property transaction due diligence. Profit level for 1995 exceeded
1994 and 1993 levels by 100%.
Appointed to Mayor Daley's Chicago Brownfields Policy Forum
Senior Project Engineer (1992-1995) - Managed similar client projects
having revenues in excess of $4mm. Reduced total estimated remediation
cost on one project from $60mm to less than $20mm by developing and
negotiating realistic risk-based cleanup objectives with federal and
state authorities.
Staff Engineer (1981-1984) - Various priority technical assignments
mostly having to
do with soil mechanics and foundation engineering problems.
Amoco Corporation (1987-1992)
Senior Environmental Program Coordinator - Defined and coordinated
property/business transfer environmental due diligence for both
domestic and international projects. Involved in over $2.0 billion
dollars net asset transfers with acknowledged savings in excess of
$75mm through negotiations. Also responsible for management of
corporate Superfund projects. Project manager and expert witness at
site that resulted in successful defense against a $150 mm dollar
fine. Participated on several environmental, health and safety
compliance audit teams and negotiated and secured NPDES permits for
operating facilities.
