WORK EXPERIENCE
06/09-Present Fluid Hydraulic Systems and Services
(Partner/Director of Engineering) Chula Vista,CA
. Designed and manufactured safety system, BPSSA, for CEMEX's
concrete boom pumps that prevents the hydraulic agitator
motor from turning while the protective rack is open, and
keeps the rack locked closed while the hydraulic agitator
is enabled. Currently the system is being used on several
boom pumps is Tijuana and Mexicali B.C. Mexico and is in
the process of being approved on a national level to be
installed on all BP units in the republic.
. Managed BOM, gant charts and process maps for BPSSA design
project.
. Increased quality and reduced warranty cost by over 89% by
implemented process for remanufacturing hydrostatic
transmissions and testing them to the manufacture's
specifications.
. Negotiated and secured contract with national companies
Telnor and Cemex for maintaining their mobile fleet.
Implemented process and trained technicians to perform
preventive maintenance on hydraulic systems to maintain
high-level performance and increase the lifetime of the
working components.
. Developed valuable leadership skills by managing 10
employees and overseeing business operation.
10/08- 06/09 Berkeley Bionics (CAD
Engineer) Berkeley, CA
. Redesigned the hydraulic gear pump in order to increase
efficiency and reduce the noise level.
. Implemented a new process for bleeding of the hydraulic
system. The goal was to reduce the time it takes to remove
air from the system from 1.5hr to 10 to 15 minutes.
. Assisted with the assembly of the Human Exoskeleton hip
Hydraulic system.
06/08 - 08/08 Hydraulic Components
(Shop Supervisor) Tijuana,Mexico
. Designed and manufactured Hydraulic power units for the
customer's specific needs.
. Managed technicians, making sure that the reassembly of
motors and cylinders were complete
. Tested hydraulic cylinders under pressure for leaks. Tested
hydraulic pump and motors for volumetric efficiency after
reassembly.
06/07 - 08/07 Ford Motor Co.
(Quality Engineering Intern) Dearborn, MI
. Became Six Sigma Green Belt Certified by assisting
engineers in their black Belt projects.
. Ran and monitored a design of experiments (DOE) for the RV
gear identifying the root cause of the stake nut failure in
the sector gear.
. Collected and statistically analyzed data to determine if
the process for manufacturing rack and pinion gear input
shafts was capable. Identified and implemented factors to
reduce variability and allow process to pass capability
test.
. Preformed a measurement system analysis (MSA) on the evac
and fill machines at the Kentucky Truck Plant to determine
whether the evac and fill machines were consistent with
each other. Suggested adding fife seconds to the cycle time
in order to increase gage resolution and therefore improve
quality control.
. Completed the Define phase of the 6 panel for the VN127
grunt project. Allocated a test vehicle and prepared it for
NVH testing.
SKILLS
. Highly experienced in hydraulic systems
. Six Sigma Green Belt certified.
. Trained in Statistical Process Control, Global 8D, and
Process Fundamentals
. Bilingual (Spanish, English)
. Proficient in SolidWorks Digital Buck, Mini Tab, AutoCAD,
Matlab,
. Experienced using machine shop equipment such as lathes,
mills band saws etc.
