Provided the secure detention of juvenile offenders in a safe environment.
Handled the intake as well as releasing procedures of the juveniles.
Managed the transferring of juveniles throughout the facility.
Operated the main control system of the facility.
Prepared and distributed daily meals as well as helping juveniles with their daily routines.
On certain occasions also counseled some juveniles when needed.
Performed intake procedures which included strip searches as well as full medical and mental questionnaires for the
juvenile offender. Gave each juvenile an orientation of all the regulations before putting them in their room.
Worked in the housing unit with a partner to organize daily activities, including meals, recreation, shower, and
school time; gym as well as clean up.
Transferred the juveniles throughout the facility for visits with their lawyers or family members, to gym and medical
appointments. With a certain juveniles, providing they showed good behavior, allowed them to clean the facility.
Also in charge of cleaning certain areas of the facility.
On the night shift duties included washing the clothing worn by the juveniles upon intake and facility uniforms.
Cleaned and searched the housing units for any contraband or defacement of property. I was also in charge of
checking the residents every 15 minutes with our key system. Residents that were put on suicide watch were checked
every 5 minutes.
Worked all three shifts when needed and knew the daily routine for each shift.
When needed wrote reports based on any events that occurred, such as reprimand, misbehaving or violence.
