Performing all inspections for the DuraHeart heart pump, which
include, dimensional, visual and electrical testing.
Equipment and machinery used are CMM (coordinate measuring
machine, calipers, micrometers and thread gages. For
electrical testing the Cirrus and Vitrek machines are
utilized. FAIR (first article inspection reports) are also
performed. Pre and Post inspections for sterilized products
and final packaging shipments. All areas of work are
environmentally controlled and sterile. Inspection of labels
for all products to be shipped, as well as inspections for
final packaging are of high importance for accuracy. Standard
Operational Procedures and FDA regulations are strongly
enforced on a daily basis. Proper suiting which includes,
shoe covers, frocks, jumpsuits, head and face veils and
nitrile gloves for each inspection is mandatory, specifically
for clean room inspections.
