. Head of the English Department and developer of the English program
for students of low income. Most of them never had contact with the
language before and some others where just learning how to speak
Spanish.
. I developed the entire English program, and this task included:
evaluation material for the students, English material for the entire
course, all academic examinations, and material for the teachers.
. I was also in charge of hiring English teachers and make sure they
where fitted for such an important task. I had to coach them every two
weeks and prepare them for their monthly program, giving them the
material and reviewing it with them, creating ideas and methods that
would make their classes more dynamic, evaluate their performance and
give them feedback.
. Also, I taught English during a two-month intensive course, to the
employees in the University. I created special material for their
needs.
. I had the satisfaction of seeing an entire grade of non-English
speaking students move to the next grade speaking English at 75%
accuracy.
