Norwalk La Mirada Unified School District /Glazier Elementary 9/2009-
6/2012 SPECIAL DAY CLASS PRE-K TEACHER (Mild to Moderate)
*work with children 3
through 5 years old incorporated academic skills from the Houghton Mifflin
Curriculum in the areas of language, cognitive skills, pre-reading, pre-
mathematics, pre-writing skills, social emotional, social skills, self-
help, and vocational, fine motor, and gross motor skills in a classroom
setting. *plan lessons that are
developmentally appropriate skills.
*assesses student's developmental
skills from the Brigrance and Carolina with on-going assessments of DRDP-
Access throughout the year. I am assess child's functional levels in a
multi-disciplinary team that includes Special Education with the School
Psychologist and if needed a Speech Therapist.
* facilitate Applied
Behavioral Analysis in the classroom and Behavioral Management skills for
students.
*Social committee member for staff Holiday
Dinner, as a team player with two other members from the Special Education
Pre-k Teachers helped facilitate the staff Holiday Dinner at BJ's
Restaurant.
*Involved in Red Ribbon Week, supplied copies of bookmarks, got
supplies for red ribbon week, did assembly for the elementary students, for
the assembly I got Mac Ruff to attend the assembly and people from the City
of Norwalk to talk about Saying NO to Drugs; I prepared weeks activities of
a variety of things students and teachers would wear with the help of the
PTA and School Staff.
Rowland Unified School District/Rorimer Elementary 8/2007-
7/2009 SPECIAL DAY CLASS PRE-K TEACHER (Non Severe Handicapped
with various disabilities) *work with children 3 years old through 5
years and prepare academic development that focus on developmental growth
which would include: Kindergarten Readiness Skills such as Math skills
(quantities and counting), Literacy skills (Phonetic Awareness, Pre-
Readiness, Writing), and Social/Emotional skills (play skills).
*plan lesson plans that are appropriate for the Pre-K
students also create quarterly reports on the state Desired Results
Developmental Profile for children.*Teach sign language to the students so
they can communicate their needs and wants. I completed an Adjunct duty to
have a Career Day for thirty-three teachers for Rorimer Elementary with 2-3
speakers attending each class. The students enjoyed Career Day it was a
success.
