Customer is a telecom equipment manufacturing company with wide presence in
India and abroad. This implementation aims to streamline their product
development and design process and shorten the product development cycle to
introduce the new products in market faster and cheaper. A complete PLM
implementation is being done having eMatrix VCP PLM. Program Central Module
is implemented to manage the projects, programs more effectively and link
them to the business goals of the company. Engineering central is
implemented to have a strong change management process and effectively
manage the Engineering Bill of Materials. Connectivity is established with
ProE (MCAD) and Allegro PCB Design (ECAD) tools having Designed Central as
backbone and Matrix One connectors for ECAD and MCAD integrations. AutoVue
is integrated to provide Viewer and Mark-up facility for CAD files. Product
Central is implemented to have a strong mapping between requirements and
feature and manage the various Models, Product Revision and Product
Configuration more effectively. Sourcing and Supplier central is being
implemented to manage the Suppliers and sourcing activity through PLM.
Connectivity with ERP will be established to enable the manufacturing team

This project aims to build a connector between eMatrix and FAST. FAST is
well known search engine requiring a bridge to connect with eMatrix to
enable text search in eMatrix. This integration will sit on top of
Engineering Central, Program Central and Document Central. FAST has its own
data repository which is replication of eMatrix database. This FAST
repository gets updated periodically with trigger based approach. Text
search made in eMatrix touches FAST repository to retrieve faster result.
Search is being made in the eMatrix metadata and in the checked-in files as
well. The text search in eMatrix is tested across various integrations like
AutoVue, MS Office etc.

Project Description
The Project involved in Understanding the As-Is Process, process for Change
& Configuration management processes and giving a to-be solution of process
flow for engineering change and configuration management. A Six Sigma
approach to process redesign using the DMADV (Define Measure Analyze Design
Verify) methodology. A To-Be solution was given for implementation of
processes with New Product Introduction to management and maintenance with
a PLM approach.
Responsibility
. Capturing As-Is process for Change & Configuration management

. Documentation in consulting assignment, process modeling and system
architecture.
. Swimlanes were prepared for the Process Modeling.
