Performance Indicators (KPIs) in order to evaluate trends

Advisor to the Air Force Surgeon General for all Medical

Data quality issues impacting the nine major commands and

seventy-nine military treatment facilities, that include

five medical centers and fifteen other bedded facilities.

Air Force representative to Department of Defense Data

Quality Management Control Board responsible for reviewing

tri-service (Army, Navy and Air Force) deficiencies to

insure a common understanding of program requirements.

Primary responsibility to oversee requirements execution

and to consult with major commands and facility data

quality managers in monitoring the data quality program

and facilitating initiatives to improve the quality of the

data enterprise wide. Responsibilities extended to Air

Force representation at the Department of Defense Unified

Biostatistical Utility (Medical Coding Policy committee),

Uniformed Business Office and Medical Expense Performance

Reporting System (MEPRS) Management Improvement Group.

These committees work in concert with the Tricare

Management Activity (TMA) that oversees military medicine.

Additional responsibilities were to provide coding and

workload guidance to all Air Force medical treatment

facilities to include trend analysis, inpatient and

outpatient medical records management, billing and

collections management, and cost accounting activities.

Provide Data analysis to all levels of leadership to

facilitate improvements. Review and or conduct special

data projects affecting the Air Force Medical Service,

i.e. Base Realignment and Closure Commission (BRAC).

Additional Experience in the Air Force included: Medical

Records Management (Inpatient/Outpatient), Medical

Readiness and Planning, Medical Manpower Allocation,

Resource Management to include budget

development/execution and Uniform Business Office

Management at the military treatment facility,

intermediate command and Air Force levels.
