Selected Achievements
I diagnosed production pace was too slow, caused by delays in construction
and causing loss of revenue. I analyzed the schedule and with strategic
planning and problem solving skills, succeeded in accelerating production.
Impact: The job came in $660,000 under budget and 6 months ahead of
schedule.
Starting a remodeling business was my goal in life. Working hard to build a
reputation for myself, I achieved starting and operating a successful
remodeling business for more than 13 years.
By gaining the respect and confidence of the subcontractors I was able to
accelerate the production schedule, alleviating delays in construction and
loss of revenue. I increased production to completing a building a week.
Impact: Successfully completed the project ahead of schedule.
Wind had caused damage to site fencing and was going to cost the company
$20,000 in repairs. I diagnosed the problem and persuaded the subcontractor
that the installation was done incorrectly. Impact: Ultimately succeeded in
saving the company $20,000 in lost revenue.
A city code violation had been committed by the sales team. The city was
going to make the company tear the house down at a cost of $75,000 to
rebuild. I persuaded the city to allow us to continue building with some
design changes I implemented. Impact: We were able to continue building the
house with no construction delays, or loss of revenue for a savings of
$75,000.
Succeeded in getting one of my kitchen remodels shown in a feature column
of the local newspaper. Impact: Public recognition and visibility of my
work.
Although only with the company a short time and seeing potential
advancement with a new company, my achievements proved to the owner that I
was capable of handling more responsibility. Impact: I was promoted from
Assistant to Lead Superintendent within 3 months of being hired.
