My most recent experience was as the Manager of the Marketing
Communications department for BIOTRONIK, Inc. where I not only performed
the duties of the department manager but also as a Program and Project
manager and an Art Director. I personally built up the department from one
part time designer to a multitalented, cross functional design and
communications group capable of production 80% to 90% of all the corporate
marketing and promotional materials in house. I was directly responsible
for several innovations that included department SOPs, video conferencing,
and automated job tracking, and reviewing. I have over 19+ years of
experience with print and web related marketing for both large and small
businesses. I am goal orientated and an experienced leader of people. I can
manage direct reports, outside vendors and talent, as well as project
sponsors and work effectively with upper management.

Creation I took a single part-time graphic design position and
created a fully functional Marketing Communications
department capable of providing for all of the needs
of BIOTRONIK's national sales organization
Organization Wrote and implemented the first departmental Standard
Operating Procedure with detailed work instructions -
Created and implemented the file naming convention
for all of the departments digital assets
Improvement Designed and implemented a training schedule for my
direct reports to increase their core competencies
and to provide an overlap in skills and capabilities
- Researched and upgraded equipment and software as
needed - Proposed and received a dedicated MarCom
production area with a separate video conference room
Innovation Created a mixed platform of both PCs and Macs to
improve production times, expand capabilities and
ensure quality and reliability of web and multimedia

local area network within the corporate network for
just marketing - Using Acrobat, partially automated
the MarCom workflow eliminating hundreds of man-hours
previously spent filling out creative briefs, work
orders and production forms - Researched and
instigated interoffice, national and international
video conferencing eliminating thousands of dollars
in travel expenses
Quality Act as the first proofer on all material - My
Assurance preference is to use an outside proofer as a final
quality check who is not involved in the creation of
the material - Perform press checks, pull random
samples from delivered material and insist that the
contracted vendor does not outsource any part of the
job to another vendor without my involvement or
consent - If they do not already exist, I will write
the company design guidelines, create procedures,
write work instructions, and implement a review and
sign-off process
Program My typical program load has been 20 to 25 concurrent
