. Work with Clinical Chairman, Program Director and New
York Medical College on the eight residency programs and

. Performing strategic analysis of physician practice
referral patterns and utilize data to target physician
recruitment initiatives.
. Oversee the Advertising budget of $ 650,000 including
working creatives, physician promotion and ad placement.
Working with Wax Custom Communications on hospital
strategic marketing initiative.
. Oversee the Development Department and secured multi-
million dollar grants from local elected officials. RUMC
currently managing submissions of approximately
$13,000,000 of equipment and facility development
grants.
. Oversee the Physician Clinical Outreach Programs and
Community Screening activities yielding over 20,000
patient encounters in 2010.

2007 - 2009 CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
Executive leader reporting to the Board of Trustees; for a
510-bed multi-site teaching hospital responsible for
overall operations, service development, physician
relations, regulatory, quality standards, finance and
facility management - working through a Senior Management
Team consisting of 5 Vice Presidents and 3 Assistant Vice-
Presidents. Charged with the development of the newly
formed hospital after divestiture from St. Vincent's
Catholic Medical Centers. Responsible for the significant
hospital re-build from 2005 - 2009.
ACHEIVEMENTS
. Successfully led the Senior Management Team towards
operational performance improvement. The Team's efforts
resulted in $ 11 million dollar turnaround.
. Recruited key physician positions including Chairman of
Surgery, Electro-physiologist, Vascular Surgeon,
Endocrinologists and Primary Care Physicians.
. Significantly improved Emergency Department Services by
engaging Emergency Medical Associates (E.M.A.) to
provide medical management for the Department. Results
include 100% Board Certified Medical Staff, decrease
throughput time and improved community perception.
. Continued to develop service line initiatives including
surgical services, orthopedics, maternal/child, primary
care & urology resulting in increased admissions &
procedures.
. Directed hospital to focus on quality initiatives
resulting in organization's highest public reporting CMS
Core Measure indicators.
. Re-structured the organization to a Quint Studer Service
Excellence Model focusing on service, quality, people,
finance and growth. Hospital is recipient of the 2008
Press Ganey Compass Award for most improved inpatient
satisfaction scores over a two year period.
. Implemented I.T. Platforms including Laboratory,
Radiology, Hospital OE/RR and EDIM Electronic E.D.
Record. Implemented e-Clinical for Amboy Medical
Practice.
. Improved operations with the addition of a 10-bed
Ventilator Unit, creation of a Urology Center of
Excellence & Transport Department and outsourcing
Transcription & Laundry.
. Facilitated relationships with nursing homes, Staten
Island Physician Practice (SIPP) and other health
entities resulting in increased hospital admissions.
. Created Grant Department securing $1,000,000 from the
S.I. Foundation in first year.
. Completed facility upgrades including improved
Ambulatory Surgery Waiting Rooms, Emergency Department,
lobby areas, physician's charting room and patient
units.
. Defined & implemented branding strategy for new entity.
Developed new marketing initiatives with unique media
placements including billboards, bus stops, S.I. Live &
cable.
. Represent R.U.M.C. in the community including Community
Boards, Heart Institute and local clergy. Recipient of a
number of local awards for community service.
. Working successfully with 1199 Union Senior Leadership
on Labor/Management initiative to maintain open
dialogue.
SVCMC-NY to RUMC Transition Accomplishments:
. Worked to create a local Board of Trustees & assembled a
Senior Management Team.
. Worked in consultation with Medical Staff and Senior
Leadership to establish first year strategic plan and
physician recruitment initiatives.
. Created on-site services previously outsourced to SVCMC-
NY.

budget constraints including reductions in force,

service organization during bankruptcy & re-structure of
St. Vincent's Health Care System.

. Orthopedic Services:
o Designated Chief of Orthopedics.
o Implemented 4 dedicated rooms on surgical
unit for recovery of post-surgical orthopedic
patients.
