I have been in Nursing for over 20 years and have worked in almost every
field of nursing. While working for public health I created and
implemented several programs and enjoy meeting the needs and serving
humanity. I have also enjoyed teaching and my role as a family nurse
practitioner. I'm currently employed as the Assistant Director and FNP for
College of the Canyons health center. My record shows that I am highly
motivated, flexible, and dedicated to my profession.
Work experience

I currently work as the Assistant Director and as Family Nurse Practitioner
at College of the Canyons. My responsibilities are to oversee the health
clinic and to provide human resources with medical assistance and Health
promotion programs. I am also responsible for finding and maintaining our
outside resources. My role as a clinician at College of the Canyons is to
identify and treat minor and acute illnesses and injuries and to promote
and provide preventive care. The purpose of student health services at
College of the Canyons is to assist students to stay healthy so they may
attain their college education

I currently work as a District School Nurse where I oversee two High
Schools and two Jr. High Schools. I am responsible for all the mandated
reports and screenings, as well as the health assistance and other staff. I
attend all Individual Education Plan meetings, providing health care plans
and advocate for all students including special education.

I have taught for College of the Canyons Certified Health Assistant and
Medical assistant program. I have been involved in creating the curriculum
for the ROP CNA program. I have also completed California State University

Dependency Drug Court Public Health Nurse
I had the privilege to work for the Rx for kids program for Children
Protective services. I implemented the new Statewide Foster Care program. I
also help to create and implement the Dependency Drug Court Public for
Ventura County. While working for Ventura County my position was
responsible for providing ongoing health assessment, education and
coordination of all health care issues for the client and their entire
family as well as collaborating with the Dependency Drug Court team for
treatment plan. I have been responsible for writing 2 successful grants. I
was responsible for developing and providing educational programs,
developing policy and procedures and for providing quality assurance for
the evaluation of such services.

I worked for Blue Cross as a utilization review nurse. I coordinated the
short and long term care needs of patient's. I also determine the plan of
treatment within benefit agreement and or including extra contractual
agreement, including medical, Medicare. My focus was client driven and
outcome orientated. The settings I worked in were acute care setting as
well as SNF's and home health. I was also involved with discharge planning
by coordinating outside services and providers and assisting with benefit
interpretation

I took time off, initially, from nursing to care for my newborn son;
however, I latter became involved with the expansion of my husband
business, where I worked as the financial manager. I was responsible for
overseeing our company becoming incorporated and also for developing and

patient education board, as well as involved with several in house
