Provide clinical and administrative assistance to the Dr. Glenn

Newman. My responsibilities include but not limited to triaging

patients, take patient intake, history and vital signs, assist in

direct admits to the hospital, obtain specimen collections (blood,

urine, wound culture), bedside testing (glucose, PT/INR) suture/staple

removal, wound care management, I&D of abscesses, prepare exam and

treatment rooms, prepare patients for procedures, give oral, IV,

catheters, apply Unna boots, casts, splints and dressings, prepare and

maintain supplies and equipment, autoclave, EKG, O2 application and

management, O2 sat recording, Peak flow meter testing, administer

aerosol albuteral and DueoNeb, write and call in prescriptions as

directed by the doctor; provide patient education and teaching for

chronic and acute illnesses (HTN, GOUT, HYPERLIPIDEMIA and DIABETES) ;

also preformed small procedures with and without doctor supervision

like skin tag removal, ear cleaning, numbing, freezing and

hyphercation of moles and BCCa .Responsible for scheduling new and

established patients, follow-up visits and yearly physicals, out-

patient and indigent care referrals . Handle all Doctor, patient and

insurance calls, as well as peer to peer conference calls and prior

authorization initiations. Assist and maintain all patient records and

compliance with JCAHO, HIPPA and CLIA. Completed FMLA, DOT, Home

Health Certification Forms, and all other necessary forms required by

patients. Use proper charting and documentation methods to maintain

charts above compliance. Assist and prepare for chart audits by

monitoring, O2 use and management, assisted in patient transfers,

order entry, charting and documentation, admit and discharge of

patients, performed straight cath insertion and removal, NG tube

insertion, IV placement, care and removal. Assisted with patient ADL's

and cooperated with other departments to aide in the overall care of

the patients. Performed death care and transported decease for pick-

up. Greeted patients and visitors, assisted, entered and updated

patient PHI, monitored the waiting room, checked patients in and out

as well as collected co-pays and deductibles. The job also entailed

but not limited to office oversight, employee supervision, purchasing
