Project Manager Management

I'm Irosh Wimaladharma from Sri Lanka. I'm the owner & administrator of

I have 7 years of experience as HR Executive + Project Leader (Innodata Isogen Lanka Pvt Ltd - an IT

Company + No. 01 BPO in Sri Lanka).

Currently I'm working as Freelance HR/Recruitment Manager + Project Manager + VA (part time) for two

employers (see my oDesk profile). I'm handling 8 people including 1 Project Manager, 4 PHP

Developers, 2 Web Writers and one VA (they were hired only for specific projects for contract basis). I

spend only 2-4 hours per day for them. Since I'm a full time Freelancer I will be able to work 8hrs+ (per

day) for you.

What can I do as a project manager that no one else can?

I would prefer to introduce myself as Project Manager cum HR Manager. I have experience and skills as

PM as well as HRM. Very rarely you can find experienced PMs with HR skills. What I wanted to tell you

is you/your company will be able to cut the recruitment/HR cost when recruiting people since I have a

database of Developers, programmers, DEOs, Writers in SL. Also I have contacts with head hunting

agencies, institutes, etc.

Recognition is very very important while working with a team. As a HRM I'm always trying to motivate,

reward my team members and improve the relationship among the team. Time to time I invite them for

online forum/discussions (TeamLab) by adding new subjects and they get a chance to share their

experience/skills.

I'm using TeamLab as a Project Management tool to update members, follow up and assign tasks. I have

experience in Basecamp as well. I'm using DrobBox to share/upload files. As PM + HRM I'm responsible

to verify their Work Diary, logs and tasks but once in a week.

I have many sources to recruit candidates and I do interviews by using Skype, Telephone, etc. I use

Teamviewer application to conduct exams and no one will be able to surf internet to find answers. I use

my web site to post ads for vacancies, and other recruitment sources as well (I have posted an ad related

to freelance PHP Programmers few weeks back in TopJobs.lk .

My network is a huge one, I have contacts with many head hunting services, advertising firms,

universities, institutes etc etc.

I have experience in SEO, Internet Marketing, recruitment and placement, Performance

Management/Evaluations, Letter & Report preparation, Leave administration, Policy/Procedure drafting,

ER & IR related, Resignation process, etc. I have followed a HR course which covered all HR key areas.

Also I have experience in letter & report preparation, data analysis,, performance management, etc.

I have an excellent knowledge and experience in Excel including creating reports, data analyzing,

formulas, pivot tables, charts, links, etc. I got 91% marks for MS Excel exam (top 10% - see my profile in

oDesk)

I'm very good in MS Word as well. I got 81% marks in oDesk exam (top 20%).

Data Entry Skills: I have 60wpm touch typing speed (including numeric) with 100% accuracy. I have

followed a touch typing course at Langway Institute.

I'm a good web developer, graphic designer (have followed a higher diploma - Infotec Institute).

I'm a quick learner, team player and also having good managerial skills to handle people. I'm using a high

tech PC with 3.6mbps broadband Internet connection and I'm available 24/7.
