In a very lean purchasing department, accountability, responsibility and multitasking are a must;
an extremely fast paced and customer driven environment.
Identify and select proven supply sources and contract manufacturers capable of delivering
custom box build mechanical assemblies, custom electronics, cables, molded plastics, metal
fabricated materials and other commodities that satisfy quality and operational goals. Work with
engineering on new product development and introduction; project management, projected cost,
risk assessment and report findings to management. Identify costs savings, alternate sources
and/or options. Develop scope of work and/or request for quotes; negotiate and analysis contracts
or quotes to insure compliance to the specifications or services; evaluate NRE's or exceptions.
Develop and review forecast requirements; place and monitor orders to satisfy production
requirements. Establish and monitor safety stocks, EOQ's, NDA's, deliverables, vendor
performance, commodities and other metrics. Review/distribute ECO’s and disposition
discrepant materials. Assist with facilities and other MRO items as needed.
* In 2010, identified new supply source for fasteners resulting in an annual savings of $77,000.
* Cleaning Services – Created SOW, supplier selection criteria, bid and reviewed proposals. New
provider estimated annual savings $6,000 in services and $10,000 in consumables.

Following FDA guidelines and ISO requirements, select and secure products from manufacturers
of medical components and devices. Develop long-term contracts and strategic alignments with
preferred suppliers to obtain cost savings, reduce lead-times and increase inventory turns.
Working with engineering source new disposable machined components with supply sources.
Review and disposition discrepant inventory as required. Identify qualified sources for custom
machined components, OEM, sub-contracted sterile finished devices, cable assemblies, magnets
