Over 40 years experience in Electromechanical & Electronic Maintenance
maintaining Office Billing machines, Telephone Switching production &
testing equipment, PLC & computer controlled Plating Lines, Eximer Laser
Machines, Injection Molding Presses, Search Radars and associated auxiliary
equipment. I also have experience in Manufacturing Building Maintenance.
EXPERIENCE
TYCO ELECTRONICS, Greensboro, N.C. - 1989-2009
Electromechanical & Electronic Technician - Modified, inspected,
calibrated, and wrote preventative maintenance & calibrating procedures on,
& repaired PLC/Computer controlled Plating Lines. I performed preventative
& corrective maintenance procedures on, and repaired Hydraulic & Electrical
Injection Molding Presses, Stamping Presses & associated pneumatic &
automated auxiliary equipment, & automated assembly equipment. I installed
control wiring, and serviced Eximer Lasers, single phase & 3 phase motors &
pumps, stepping & DC motors, drives, diaphragm pumps. I assisted in
upgrading the building wiring at the old location before the new plant was
built. I used word processors (Microsoft Office) & other programs furnished
by the Ford Motor Co. to assist me in writing & editing the PM's for the
Plating Lines and some Molding Presses. I built the Plating PM Program from
scratch.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Received 3 Spot Bonuses:
. For helping to solve significant problems with Eximer Laser Machines,
which reduced machine downtime, improved performance, & reduced
material costs.
. For creating Preventative Maintenance Programs which increased quality
of product output, increased Plating Line Utilization, reduced machine
downtime, & reduced spare parts used.
. For leading the Electronic Calibration Team that focused on tighter
tolerances & increasing efficiency which also increased quality &
quantity of product output.
AT&T NETWORK SYSTEMS, Winston-Salem, N.C. - 1980-1989
Installed, modified, inspected, proved-in, calibrated, troubleshot, &
repaired Telephone Switching Gear production & testing equipment, a lot of
times down to component level on circuit boards. Assisted Building
Maintenance the last 2 years in replacing and upgrading the building
wiring, getting questionable wiring it up to code, before they closed the
plant.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
. Perfect attendance 5 years in a row.
Received 1 Spot Bonus
. For redesigning a production circuit board to eliminate RF feedback
allowing much more stable operation.
AT&T & FORSYTH TECH (Joint Venture) Part Time. - 1981-1987
Electronic Instructor - Prepared & conducted lectures & labs on basic
electronic theory thru computer technology that developed participating
employees at AT&T & other companies to be eligible for upgrades to higher
level jobs at higher pay rate. I taught all 7 levels several times. Each
level was one quarter long, 2 yrs. total. I took one group of students
from level 1 thru 7, then, did the same with another group. I used this
opportunity to bring any students weaknesses up. I used PC software,
furnished by AT&T, to assist me in getting the lectures, lab sheets, &
tests ready for my students.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Was voted Best Instructor by AT&T Management, for having the biggest
percentage of students getting upgrades. Two female students that I took
thru all 7 levels were qualified for maintenance positions, and Carl
Flemming (Maintenance Supervisor) upgraded them to our maintenance team.
UNISYS Corp. Winston-Salem, N.C. - 1970 - 1980
Field Engineer - Performed maintenance on electronic billing & terminal
minicomputer systems at customer locations. Made machine installation,
maintenance agreement, supply sales, customer relations, & collection
calls.
US AIR FORCE - 1966 -1970
Performed all necessary electronic maintenance on Heavy Ground Search Radar
and associated equipment.
