Assistant Director
. Manage a team of scientists and engineers who provide technical
assistance to businesses and institutions in the State of Georgia.
Manage the Partnership for a Sustainable Georgia (PSG). The PSG is a
program open to any business or institution in the State of Georgia which
provides free and confidential assistance to businesses and institutions
to set up and meet environmental goals, either through the adoption of an
Environmental Management System (EMS) or by utilizing the Sustainable
Office Toolkit (SOT).
. Participated in water and energy audits and Train the Trainer classes for
PSG Partners and Georgia municipalities and helped develop the Standard
Operating Procedures (SOPs) for audit reporting.
. Direct supervision of all technical staff. Duties include prioritization
and delegation of staff work assignments, coaching and motivation to
staff, monitoring the quality and timeliness of services, resolving
conflicts, evaluating staffing and resource needs, and maintaining a high
performance environment with a strong team orientation.
. Prepare employee performance management plans, and conduct employee
evaluations.
. Assist in the development of a Green Hospitality Program for the State of
Georgia. Convene hospitality stakeholder meetings around the state to
gain insight into needs of industry. Prepare outline of concepts and
metrics developed from these meetings to create a Green Hospitality
program for the state, working with USEPA and hospitality leaders,
including those from hotel industry and the National Restaurant
Association.
. Report on activities via tracking system and confirm that technical staff
is updating tracking system.
. Conduct Quality Control review of all staff deliverables for
clients/Partners before submittal.
. Analyze findings and makes recommendations in reports. Serve as an expert
adviser to the senior management, as well as provide expert knowledge and
information to policy makers, other local, state and federal agency

Plan, develop and execute sustainable infrastructure projects for the City
of Atlanta and other municipalities, with complete accountability for
construction projects from design through implementation. Expertly

stakeholders for on-budget and on-time results. Oversee quality assurance
and control (QA/QC), and participate in permitting and contract

. $3.9 Billion EPA Consent Order Sewer Program - Selected as Senior
Project and Construction Manager of the major infrastructure utilities
coordination effort for the City of Atlanta (COA). Identified and
resolved critical utility issues, before they escalated.
. Clean Water Atlanta Program - Designed sewer lines and manholes in
accordance with the city's Sewer System Evaluation Survey (SSES).
Performed QA/QC reviews. Participated in permitting and contract
management. Also aided in the launch of a new, interactive Web site
that streamlined implementation of SSES and sustainable construction
projects.
. Municipal Water and Wastewater Projects - Planning and design support
for Athens /Clarke County Ga. new sustainable LEED certified water
treatment facility.
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, Miami Beach, FL 2004 to 2005
Area Manager / Senior Capital Projects Coordinator
Provided insight and direction for capital projects in the City of Miami
Beach, including all phases of planning, design and construction of
buildings, parking garages, utility infrastructure, parks, theaters and
Right of Way (ROW) projects. Led a team of Planners, Capital Coordinators,
Construction Managers, Engineering Inspectors and support staff. Built
public and private partnerships. Conducted presentations for the Design
Review Board, Historical Preservation Board and other stakeholder
organizations. Secured grant funding for municipal projects.
Selected project list:
. Miami Beach Convention Center Project - Managed a multidisciplinary
design project (including allocating the large, multi-year budget and
elaborate phasing plan) to renovate four exhibit halls in a manner that
drove up profitability and visibility for the center. Replaced
furniture, equipment, doors, restrooms and roofing. Purchased two-acre
staging yard. Installed technology and green energy conservation
systems, signage and landscaping. Repaired elevators and escalators.
. $6.5 million Colony Theater Project (National Register of Historic
Places) - Improved theater operations and performances by steering
multimillion-dollar design and renovation effort in compliance with ADA
Title III requirements and Historic Preservation Board policies and
review requirements. Transformed the entrance, fa ade, ticket booth and
lobby to their original Art Deco style. Revamped the interior, expanded
the theater house, and introduced leading-edge theatrical rigging and
sound systems.
. $3.5 million Historic Jackie Gleason Theater Project - Worked with the
Miami Beach Preservation Board to comply with historic building
preservation laws while overseeing the multi-phase project. Oversaw
design and renovation of theater interiors, lighting, sound, seating,
restrooms and other areas.
. South Shore Community Center Project - Directed the complete
renovation, construction and build out of the community center in
accordance with the City of Miami Beach Parks Master Plan of 1996. Led
the build out of the facility and playground, renovation of bathrooms,
and purchase of new signage, playground equipment, lighting and
landscaping. Managed the widening of the 6th Street sidewalk.
. Flagler Island and Monument (National Register of Historic Places) -
Managed planning, assessment and sampling phases of the island and
monument stabilization and renovation project. Contracted the
architecture firm in accordance with the Brooks Act (open competition
and fair procurement).
Selected contributions:
. Successfully managed $45 million in active, sustainable construction
projects (new vertical construction, green buildings, renovations,
underground utility installations, parks, facilities and roadway
enhancements), and over $85 million in projects in various stages of
the design and development life cycle.
. Pioneered and directed numerous design, renovation and expansion
projects for architectural buildings and monuments listed on the
National Register of Historic Places, including the Colony Theatre,
Flagler Monument Island (island stabilization and monument renovation),
and others.
. Recognized as First Responder for the CIP Department during
emergencies; established immediate contact with contractors throughout
the city to ensure readiness prior to hurricanes and other situations,
and performed field inspections to verify compliance.
. Improved communication and productivity by facilitating the development
of a new tracking and reporting procedure that updated all team members
on project progress.
. Secured additional funding that supported additional historical
preservation of the Colony Theatre.

. $490 Million Capital Improvements Program (CIP) - Served as Senior
Project and Construction Manager for the City of Ft. Lauderdale CIP
program, and enabled all property owners to connect their septic tanks
to city sewer lines, regardless of annual household income.
. Aquifer Storage and Recovery (ASR) Project - Selected as Senior Project
Manager, and successfully led this innovative and complicated effort
which involved addressing and resolving unforeseen conditions within
the well borehole. Produced on budget, on time results, and a fully
functional, sustainable Aquifer Storage and Recovery well the first
year of its completion.
. Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant, and Well Field Expansion,
Rehabilitation and Permitting Projects - Championed and oversaw
construction of new and renovated water and wastewater treatment and
well field projects in Miami-Dade and Broward counties, to serve all
areas, including tribal areas of Broward County, providing all facets
of sustainable project planning, design and implementation.

. Played integral role in developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
manuals that clearly articulated requirements for construction
management and utility permitting.
. Effectively coordinated and managed well design, testing and expansion
programs, and wrote and presented a paper on ASR well field operations
